OP however appears to be an illegitimate archive submission.

Always neat to have lost sources show up eventually. Librarians rule.
For performance reasons (avoiding a syscall) almost all malloc implementations only use sbrk / mmap occasionally and keep the malloc calls in userspace.

To get h.264 into Firefox, Cisco stepped up and offered to take the heat -

I also ran into the texinfo => tex => PDF version having title page & other errors in the rendering steps - but saw that the ASCII version "make c.txt > text.txt" generated the indexes / cross-references.
I think the build environment will be likely getting several enhancements to render correctly.

Internally, Atari did development on minicomputers and cross-assembled the output. For me there was just (slow) BASIC. Information on low-level features (Display Lists, I/O, etc) only came out in 3rd-party magazines & books years later.
I experienced the same mindset on the Atari ST & IBM PC later. Reading about GNU was a very novel idea.

Can confirm. In 1990, I managed to send him a letter from a borrowed Internet account (I didn't have an email address at the time.) He tracked me down and telephoned me(!!), I still remember his friendly demeanor, and at the end of the conversation he said "Happy hacking!".
Professors Noll & Trickett have published more recent work as of 2016 (Trickett passed away that year.)
