TheBeardKing··on Netflix Now Only Has 31 Movies from IMDB's Top 250 List
Although the trend now is for streaming services to offer a subscription to that one good show, though at a pretty steep price. Mr. Robot was something like $25-30 on amazon for season 2.

edit: But some are included at no extra cost. Amazon Prime customers got AMC's Humans the day after it aired for free.

Mine sucks bad enough that since I've transferred all my TVs from HTPCs to chromecasts, I'm google play all the way for on-demand movies. I refuse to have both a chromecast and a firestick on a TV, when the firestick would only be used for amazon. The kids are ok using ipads for amazon content for now, and I still left one HTPC connected.

Also, fuck amazon for changing from digital credit to pantry credit for selecting slow shipping instead of 2-day. Google rewards money makes up for it.

TheBeardKing··on English man spends 11 hours trying to make cup of tea with Wi-Fi kettle
I can understand that, but I'm not looking for motivation, just statistics. I'm already disciplined in weight management, tracking is just interesting.
TheBeardKing··on English man spends 11 hours trying to make cup of tea with Wi-Fi kettle
I want a smart scale. I've considered bluetooth but would prefer wifi, just waiting to catch a deal on one. Seeing my daily weight charted over a year gets my analytic side giddy, but my frugality has so far beat it back.
TheBeardKing··on Say Cheese: a snapshot of the massive DDoS attacks coming from IoT cameras
But as opposed to EMC standards, software vulnerabilities arise periodically and standards need to be continually updated. Would devices need to be audited periodically to maintain certification?

Maybe the headline should be smallest transistor with manufacturing potential. See https://www.wired.com/2009/12/functional-molecular-transisto... and http://www.nrl.navy.mil/media/news-releases/2015/researchers...

TheBeardKing··on One in 10 children has 'Aids defence'
Along that line of thinking, could we then predict to see "aids" instead of "Aids" from the BBC in the future?
TheBeardKing··on The Effect of State Marijuana Legalizations
I've never taken an economics class so forgive me, but hypothetically, what would the effects be if everyone was given citizenship today? All jobs in agriculture, construction, services, etc. would require minimum wages and benefits and the costs of many basic things would increase drastically. Imported produce would be much cheaper than domestic, making it ineffective for farmers here to compete. That would severely reduce the number of agricultural jobs here, further reducing the low skill labor market. What do you do with all these people, who now qualify for unemployment insurance? Not to mention that low income people can no longer afford basic goods and services, and housing prices would go up.

Perhaps I'm way off base, but would appreciate some clarification on these issues.

Why is it Aids not AIDS in this article?
TheBeardKing··on The Effect of State Marijuana Legalizations
Don't ignore the cost of all the regulations marijuana has in addition to regular crops - for growers, transporters, and sellers.

It really should've been that simple. Then take from allo incognito conversations, stickers, and smart replies, and you just have a nice hangouts update.

TheBeardKing··on How Parents Harnessed the Power of Social Media to Challenge EpiPen Prices
It's hard to follow supply and demand when we (US) subsidize the rest of the world's R&D because they limit legal drug prices.

>And patients can't really be expected to keep up with the prescription drug industry enough to request cheaper alternatives.

You don't have to keep up with the Rx industry to research different treatments and pricing for your individual condition. When I went to the dermatologist for skin cancer screening, she prescribed me Picato for my actinic keratosis. When I called the pharmacy and found out it would cost $200 after insurance, I called BCBS and spoke with their pharmacist about alternatives. She gave me a short list of brand names and generics, from $10 up, and at the end I decided to go with the doctor's Rx because it had the shortest treatment and recovery time. I did find an online coupon, however, which my doctor didn't tell me about.

TheBeardKing··on Housing can’t be a good investment and affordable
I don't care as much about my home as an investment (though appreciation matching inflation would be nice) as much as not having to pay rent or mortgage when I'm older. Retiring at 70% income means nearly full salary after the mortgage has been paid off, minus taxes and insurance.
TheBeardKing··on Pokémon GO: The Data Behind America’s Latest Obsession
Urban gyms are easier to defend? It seems to me the more people in an area the harder a gym is to defend, especially if you're early in your 21-hour cycle. I was in the last 20 minutes of my cycle today, and the gym at my suburban post office got taken from me about 5 times. The frustrating part is beating the gym and not getting one of mine in to defend it before someone else does.

I think OP's point is: given our obvious economic equality differences, of course you can expect different educational outcomes. Economic inequality as an indicator of social issues seems an obvious point by now.
