A UK internet blockade might just get this going.
I write mainly about data engineering and data related topics, albeit very sporadic.
The same goes for handling heat and humidity. I grew up with average temps of 35 degrees C in a dry climate. It was not a problem at all. 28 degrees in high humidity I find unbearable.
On the one had it absolutely makes life a lot easier and all the software I need runs great on it. On the other I would by buying into a device I simply cannot upgrade or maintain myself. This makes me extremely uncomfortable.
I dont want to run Windows as a daily driver since it is really jarring for my personal workflow etc. Yet Linux lacks quite a few of the essential pieces of software I need outside of development. E.g. (Krisp.AI, Reincubate Camo etc)

I refer to it as the best kept secret of parenthood. No one tells you this until you are in it.
Only if you get in and clear show you don’t want to talk will they refrain from engaging you in a conversation.
"If you build it they will come" is a sure fire way to have your hopes and dreams dashed on the rocks of reality. Marketing is as important as the dev skills to make a product happen. They are two sides of the same coin of success.
A lot of us have spouses from EU countries and we watch in horror as people like Priti Patel turns the UK into her version of 1984.
Chances are very high that those brits that travel to the EU, who might get this vindictive treatment, are not the ones that voted for Brexit.
It goes for pretty much all technology, that you need to choose the right tool for the job. For some reason the marketing just gets most people all worked up and ready to fit problems into technology that was never designed for their problems.
Today’s desire to make everything event driven and “real-time” boggles the mind. Solutions are contorted to fit the Kafka operating model.
The inevitable result is blog posts about how “we solved our self inflicted problems that would have never existed if we chose a sane design for our real problem. “
Oh and never forget that no senior stake holder ever really checks their info/dashboards in real time. Never mind actually making decisions in real time based on it.
Two of the places I lived had beautiful old sash Windows. Only problem was you could see the curtains move as the breeze came through them in winter.
I now live in the U.K. and although house quality and insulation is appalling compared to other places it is still infinitely warmer here in the middle of winter than in South Africa.
Coldest I have ever been was going back to visit family during winter there. My wife, who is from Germany and used to -5 to -10 in winter, would take a lot of persuading to visit South Africa in the middle of winter again.
