Subdivide8452··on I'm the mom in that viral Giants clip. Let me tell you about my husband
I noticed how easy it is to frame something online when you’re viewing it out of context. I’ve seen myself getting it wrong from time to time, because a title was misleading, and I don’t know why after 30 years of internet I’m not way more skeptical.
Subdivide8452··on Making Tailscale Faster
Please Tailscale don't get enshitified, I love you so much
Subdivide8452··on Audacity 4.0
Damn this guy is well versed on the topic at hand. Really clear and nice video.
Subdivide8452··on We are not going anywhere
> you might find the quality subpar, but in terms of cost ratio, it is commercially good enough. Business will accept 99.99 at fraction of cost of 99.999.

What is this based on?

Subdivide8452··on git git git git git
Never had this, but I kinda wanna add the alias just in case now
Subdivide8452··on I bypassed AWS API Gateway auth with a trailing slash. Got $12K bounty
I want my 5 minutes back. What an absolute waste of time this was.
Subdivide8452··on Talking to strangers at the gym
Such a cute read (I mean that in the best way possible). I'm quite a social person and it's really cool to see someone be so systemic about it. But I would not have the balls to just talk to random people in the way you did it, and I really admire that about you!
Subdivide8452··on Turtle WoW classic server announces shutdown after Blizzard wins injunction
Totally agree with this. Blizzard nowadays is a giant, but nobody would have blamed them if they remained a small studio, trying to protect what they've worked hard for to create. Just because they have a lot of money now, doesn't legally change a thing. It sucks because Blizzard has become a shitty company, and I'd like these types of devs from Turtle WoW to be able to continue their work, but you have to draw the line somewhere.
Subdivide8452··on Turtle WoW classic server announces shutdown after Blizzard wins injunction
Out of curiosity, as a fellow dev I'm interested in how you go about reverse engineering these types of things. I assume for networking, you keep track of what goes in and out of the live game. How do you go about pathing? How do you reverse engineer spells, how they scale over levels, and how bosses work, when they spawn, and how they spawn (based on non time based factors) ?
Subdivide8452··on Proton meet isn't what they told you it was
I think this comment deserves some nuance. Every company has to comply to local laws. Unless you want to run something illegal, at which point it's not a very reliable alternative for all your mail and more.

Proton in some cases was forced to turn over whatever they knew of a few accounts, according to Swiss law. They try to obfuscate as much as possible, so they can't turn over complete e-mail conversations. But some info is in there, and they have to turn that over. But (correct me if I'm wrong) they have to only comply to Swiss law, when there's a court order.

Subdivide8452··on LinkedIn is searching your browser extensions
I think the real crime here is that browsers are able to probe which extensions you have installed.
Subdivide8452··on Monkey Island for Commodore 64 Ground Up
I was just wondering why this process is not automated. Why do these graphics require redrawing? Resolution difference from EGA?
Subdivide8452··on Monkey Island for Commodore 64 Ground Up
This sounds so snobby. VGA Loom was absolutely stunning. I can understand that you may appreciate EGA more, but "messed up" sounds hyperbolic imo.
Subdivide8452··on Building a TB-303 from Scratch
While I agree that I'd like to know the more esoteric concepts of the 303, you could have worded it differently.
Subdivide8452··on Making Video Games in 2025 (without an engine)
SFML definitely needs more love than it's receiving.
Subdivide8452··on Obsidian Sync now has a headless client
Access on mobile would be main reason. Perhaps that’s an iOS limitation, and Dropbox on Android is just a perfect replacement.
Subdivide8452··on Plasma Effect (2016)
Exactly. Like someone stated, it was a bit like "draw the rest of the fucking owl"
Subdivide8452··on Plasma Effect (2016)
Loved the intro but that code sample could've used proper variable names.
Subdivide8452··on Synology reverses policy banning third-party HDDs
If you know what Synology is, you know it's more than just network based storage.
Subdivide8452··on Kalman Filter Explained Simply
Off topic, but why are you one of those people who do a full screen “subscribe to my mailing list” overlay? I never understand why you’d wanna do that.
Subdivide8452··on I regret selling my startup
He gives reasons why it didn’t work for him. He gives 10 pillars of his personality, 4 of these pillars were standing due to his company ownership. You don’t need to have the exact same pillars, but you need to project it upon your own life and see how selling the company would effect your personality. Then consider it for yourself if it’s worth it.
Subdivide8452··on AI Is Already Killing Books
I am hoping this gives publishers an important role of becoming the quality gatekeeper. The publisher has the relationship with the writer and ensures a certain level of quality. If a writer keeps coming up with nonsense (AI or not), they’ll cut ties. For me as someone who reads about 3-4 books a year, I don’t see an issue with this. It sucks for this indie market, but even before AI, someone had to plough through the shit.
Subdivide8452··on 4B If Statements
Ironically, I have no idea what you’re implying with this reply. Should I drop the usage of the word ‘just’? Isn’t it clear what I’m saying?
Subdivide8452··on 4B If Statements
Can’t you just test the last digit of main’s arg and get the best of both worlds?
Subdivide8452··on Synthesis Methods Explained: What Is FM Synthesis?
The end.
Subdivide8452··on Gameboy music and sound archive for MIDI
Oh my God. I used to grab MIDI’s from here in my mid to late 90s game development days. This opened up a chamber in my brain that had been closed for 20+ years.
Subdivide8452··on Continue will generate, refactor, and explain entire sections of code
What’s your vision on the replaceability of the human programmer in the next, say, 10 years?
Subdivide8452··on Meta disbanded its Responsible AI team
That’s like saying a sports game doesn’t need a referee because players should follow the rules. At times you perhaps don’t follow them as close because you’re too caught up. So it’s nice to have a party that oversees it.
Subdivide8452··on Cursorless is alien magic from the future
Was wondering the exact same thing. But my brain stopped after ‘jet’.
Subdivide8452··on Every app that adds AI looks like this
Kind of ironic that this site bothered me with one of those full screen, must-click-away, overlays trying to get me to subscribe to their newsletter.
