I bought a laptop in a pawnshop about five months ago, and I tried Linux Mint, Ubuntu fedora, Manjaro, and another arch distribution I can’t remember, and they were all just a big clunky pain in the butt.
And then there was Debian. It’s been running flawlessly for four months. All function over flash. I don’t need to worry about snap or flatpak or configurations that caused me to have to search the Internet for hours.
Love it.
And actually, as I said, in another comment, I think it borders on telling people they need to become sociopaths.
Edit to add: I guess people are down voting this because they’re misinterpreting what I’m saying. I’m not saying that you can eat all the calories you want, but you can’t metabolize calories if you don’t have the nutrition that powers the enzymes for the metabolism of the calories.
First, why not? I was an engineer. There’s not much difference between the engineering I used to do and engineering as a way to understand human metabolism.
I submitted two other articles one with 127 up votes and they were not about engineering. They were about nutrition, and one of them was about magnesium and addiction.
So basically everyone that made comments underneath those post should be flagging each other or all the engineers should come out and flag all those people. So I really know what this is about and it’s about people having a hard time with creative intelligence.
And you keep mentioning about talking about over my doctors friends. I don’t talk to Drs about this because they are some of the worst people to talk to. I talk About it with researchers. There are plenty of journalist that write books about health, you could look at me as a journalist. This guy wrote a whole book about depression and why Prozac doesn’t work and he wasn’t close to a psychiatrist or doctor or even a medical researcher.
Hacker news is not just about engineering. But as I said, I can read the room.

Who is this guy? I can’t find a thing about his background on his blog and why I should believe anything he says in that article. I even looked for him online and nothing comes up. Maybe other people know who he is but I can’t figure it out.
So it’s not really about The source it’s about the content. And if it’s about the content, I find that disappointing that there’s no discussing about it. If I had a bad idea, it can be easily disputed In a discussion.
And I’m not talking about practicing medicine, that’s why I said I’m not a doctor. I didn’t say I’m not a doctor, not because I wanted to say I wasn’t smart, I was saying I’m not a doctor because people shouldn’t, use what I talk about as treatment.
I’m sorry because I’m really just writing this out because I have Asperger‘s and it helps me understand these things. I mean, the people flagging it might not understand science, but there’s may be a lot of people here that do understand the science and we would talk about it more. And maybe even show me something that’s wrong. we learn not Through agreement but Through disagreement.
And the thing is, I’m not just saying things I’ve cited everything. I’ve said all I did was link together the previewed articles to come to a new hypothesis That even setting, the article needs to be tested.
Anyway, I’ll Leave it there, because at least I know how to read the room. Thanks again for your patience.
I mean, shouldn’t information stand on its own despite where it comes from? Because this argument is kind of a logical fallacy, attacking the messenger. I mean, I get it. There’s a lot of people saying some really stupid stuff and it frustrates me as much as it frustrates most people.
But one comment there said they wouldn’t even read the article because I wasn’t a doctor. But they don’t know the work I put in or what I understand or the amount of researchers and doctors I talk to you. For instance, I helped a Stanford researcher design, a clinical trial looking at manganese deficiency for people with chronic fatigue syndrome.
And besides, look at the research papers that are coming out now they’re all being retracted and we’re supposed to trust them?
I don’t know I guess this is just kind of frustrating because breaking through dogma needs an open mind and I’m afraid because all of the bullshit noise that people with good ideas who are thinking outside of a dogmatic Ideology just het shut down.
Anyway, thanks for letting me know.
It was interesting to read the feedback with one person saying that because I am not a doctor. I can’t learn anything.
And I appreciate what you’re saying here about mental illness because what you’re saying is true. If you go to my Substack, I’m going to talk more about how I use my genetics to discover the cause of my mental illness and how I’m using food to cure it as well as all the other disorders that came along with my mental illness.
People have a hard time with creative intelligence and unlearning dogma that’s been taught to them for years. I was hoping in hacker news people would be more open-minded but now I’m seeing that’s not the case.
Imagine if we had a smart phone maker that Cared about this so we didn’t have to worry about it all the time?
That was concerning unlocking the phone. I’m talking about the data that they store on iCloud.
High ATP could end up, creating a lot of oxidative stress in the mitochondria and end up inhibiting ATP as well. And the cystine can reduce oxidative stress inside the mitochondria to repair it.
So what magnesium is doing is making your opioid receptors more sensitive to your natural opioids.
No. I do not want to say never, but without intervention it is rare.
But let's get back to Apple...if it was functioning at "100% user privacy" would it be able to give access to your data to law enforcement? As an example, I consider MullvadVPN to be 99% user privacy.
That is a huge stretch and a signal as to how good Apple is with their marketing.
If they are still letting apps like GasBuddy to sell your location to insurance companies then they are no where near "100% privacy".
The higher ATP and GTP in my mitochondria causes higher sensitivity to all the G Protein Coupled Receptors[2], this includes the serotonin and dopamine receptors. So any increases in serotonin was exaggerated leading to psychosis and delusions much like someone would have on psilocybin.
This was cured by a low calorie, high seafood diet, a lot of walking, and limiting exposure to oxidative stressors like air pollution.
Most people however have the opposite problem; too little ATP in the mitochondria and too much in the cytosol. This leads to low energy receptor function. So when that person is exposed to dopamine there is very little reaction so they keep seeking dopamine. Hence we have depression and addiction.
In short, changes in the Purinergic pathway cause mood disorders. And this is not even a radical statement, it is just not well known[3].
So you can see why things like SSRIs will work, but stop working after a while. Since nothing is being done to correct the low mitochondrial ATP.

Here is a teaser:

The hypothesis
We propose that in ADHD, astrocyte function is insufficient, particularly in terms of its formation and supply of lactate. This insufficiency has implications both for performance and development: H1) In rapidly firing neurons there is deficient ATP production, slow restoration of ionic gradients across neuronal membranes and delayed neuronal firing; H2) In oligodendrocytes insufficient lactate supply impairs fatty acid synthesis and myelination of axons during development. These effects occur over vastly different time scales: those due to deficient ATP (H1) occur over milliseconds, whereas those due to deficient myelination (H2) occur over months and years. Collectively the neural outcomes of impaired astrocytic release of lactate manifest behaviourally as inefficient and inconsistent performance (variable response times across the lifespan, especially during activities that require sustained speeded responses and complex information processing).
Glad to hear this voice from you.
But what if I told you I cured my mental illness at 58 years old, a serious case of Bipolar Disorder Schizoaffective Type that had me on Disability and in and out of psychiatric hospitals since I was in my early 30's?
What if I told you it was more than holistic but it was holistic thinking that helped me cure my disorder.
Will you all listen to me or write me off by saying that nothing I say is true because I had a mental illness? Will you be like my doctors who do not believe I am better? That I have no more mental illness along with all the neurological issues that came with it?
And what if I told you what I have discovered in myself can be applied not only to mental illness but to everything from Cancer to Alzheimer's to ME/CFS and Long COVID?
If there is one person here who will take the time and have a creative mind to understand what I am saying I will explain it?
