How come same URL appeared on front page as a separate entry? I thought if you try to submit same URL +1 goes to the original post.
I traded stocks and Forex for years and my experience says, it is not for everyone. What ever indicators, discipline or model you follow it is going to work only if you have the right intuition or luck!
Most of this is due to my day job(full time job). And so lack of motivation or loosing interest was because of the less time I could devote to it.But I still do not agree on :
"a lack of commitment to one thing is just as productive as doing nothing at all."
When you work on side projects you learn new things or you practice old things which makes you perfect. So keep doing something is always better than nothing. Because of these unfinished side projects I was able to learn python, machine learning, data mining, django and so many other tools and technologies which I would have never learned as these are not related to my day job(all java).
So I would still vote for keep doing side projects whether or not you finish it you have something learned in the process.
Can u please elaborate more on :
"Why are you paying the heroku premium? Build you own aws servers, put nginx and set cheap instances behind it. Let capistrano be your heroku."
Like how does that setup works?
I am always amazed at the different kinds of programs and rules introduced by USA for giving permanency to illegal immigrants where as people moving/moved legally (H1b/L1b etc) have to wait forever(like 10 years and still waiting) to get that status.People on H1B/L1B can not start a side business and these are the tech people(mostly) who can add lots of value to the existing market.
For back-end, read an overview of Python/Django and Ruby/Rails syntax and how these work and then analyse which one you can understand intuitively.
Whichever language/framework you choose get in to the lower level details and you will master the things.
For FE, after HTML/CSS start with Graphic/Logo designing(With Photoshop/GIMP or wait for thanksgiving and you will get lots of deals on Adobe products) and UX principles.Again see if these things come to you naturally.
After doing little bit of both you should be able to decide yourself which one(FE/BE) is better for you.
All the best!!
What you are saying is acceptable if users are allowed use those developed apps freely(without app.net membership)but here first we need membership to access these apps!
"Developers are free to monetize their applications through their own mechanisms; this program should be thought of as a “bonus” for building software that App.net members use and love."
So developers can add advertisements and now no advertising feature of app.net is void?
You said 88 keys = 88 notes but they are just same basic notes, one of those 7 +sharp/flat.
1. Probably you will get good number of users which might boost your motivation again.
2. If #1 does not happen then you can always sell this product to someone else(flippa.com) which will at least pay for the time you have spent on it rather than totally throwing it away.
1. During scrum take notes for everyone while they are speaking.
2. End of the call send out an email to all with Minutes of meeting(which could just be what you noted above or shorter version).
3. Next day/scrum start from the last meeting's note and see if pending issues were worked on or missed(if missed highlight them right away).
4. Use a tool like JIRA/Confluence/Trello or XPlanner to organise teams/tasks/stories and assign tickets for every outstanding issue/task(Do not hesitate even if it is a 2 minute task).
5. Circulate weekly progress to everyone so that everyone knows where the team stands.Tool like xplanner are very good in providing charts/graphs from the data you enter everyday.
Good luck !
So they are just promoting an approach which is nonorthodox!
1. Social share bar for each link. 2. Finding common links/stories in all those tech sites. 3. Probably a tab view? 4. Search feature!
