Rant423··on Hollow Knight: Silksong causes server chaos on Xbox, Steam, and Nintendo
> Nine Sols was a way easier game

For me it was the other way around. In Nine Sols I got immediately stuck in the boss (mini-boss?) fight against two enemies and the flying gal.

Hollow Knight was difficult at times (Coliseum of Fools, Radiance) but it never felt unfair. Some fights (Mantis Lords, Grimm) are among the best times I've had playing a game

Rant423··on What made Dostoevsky's work immortal
Amazing list by Nabokov, and "strong opinions" indeed
Rant423··on Megalopolis is baffling and plainly nuts but worth it
It reminded me of Southland Tales.

Not a bad thing

That's entirely on you. There are some big names in the (european) comic book industry.

Rant423··on Riven
I played Myst on my second pc, on Windows 98. It was an amazing experience, even if I never finished it.

I re-played on the Nintendo Switch, and it was again amazing (I managed to finish it this time).

Never played any of the sequels, so I hope Riven makes it to Switch too

Rant423··on Models all the way down
My conclusion is that LAION is built using model upon model upon model; so each error propagates and the resulting dataset is kinda shitty.

But "we" made amazing stuff out of LAION.

So: the next person who can curate a high-quality big dataset is gonna make a fortune

The right way to do it is how The Wire has done it: https://davidsimon.com/the-wire-hd-with-videos/
Rant423··on They want you to forget what a film looks like
I agree in line of principle, everything that was officially released should be preserved.

But "accuracy" is the wrong word I think, old home video transfers are not more representative of the original theatrical presentation just because they came out first
