QuiCasseRien··on Show HN: Destroy Any Website with Stickman
this is fucking addictive
QuiCasseRien··on From Git to Fossil (2025)
Did you try pijul (https://pijul.org/) ?
QuiCasseRien··on Show HN: Syq – copy files between machines fast (better than rsync)
rclone has been the real fully featured ultra power alternative to rsync over the past 4-5 years.

How do you compare Syq to rclone ?

QuiCasseRien··on NixOS 26.05
> It seems anecdotally like LLMs have really given it a boost recently

I have been using Nixos for the past 5 years. And I really use the power of nix/nixos since Codex is doing good code with it.

Setup easily systemd-user unit with podman rootless, backup, writing script during build...

QuiCasseRien··on The case for physical media ownership

QuiCasseRien··on GitHub is sinking
There is a self-hosted version of onedev, it's oss. But there is also a enterprise version (I have one) with very nice plugins most of forge doesn't still have (like the web terminal to debug oui action/ci/cd).

Last week, Robin release a very nice feature for vibe coder. AWESOME

QuiCasseRien··on GitHub is sinking
onedev onedev ondev

I still don't see this tool when it's about a forge. It is a fantastic tool. Seriously guys, you should really consider it !

QuiCasseRien··on Ghostty is leaving GitHub
just use https://onedev.io/ !

best dev platform

QuiCasseRien··on The future of version control
I will look at it, it seems interesting. However, i hope a better ending than Pyjul (https://pijul.org/).

I'm no longer waiting for it whereas everything sound awesome : quite no more merge conflict and patches order free.

So sad it's still not production ready.

QuiCasseRien··on EDuke32 – Duke Nukem 3D (Open-Source)
Shake it baby, you wanna dance
QuiCasseRien··on Cosmologically Unique IDs
I really love everything related to Cosmology but I always struggle with two contrary concepts that lead to paradox (for me) :

- Infinity : from school, we learn our universe is infinite.

- We often do calculation with upper limit like this one : 10^240. This is a big number butttttt it's not infinite you know. 10^240+1, 10^240+2...

So :

1. if it's infinite, why doing upper limit calculation ?

2. if it's limited, what is there outside that limit ?

Extremly paradoxal

QuiCasseRien··on 15 years later, Microsoft morged my diagram
This is the type of diagram that horrified me.

It's a very very hard and time consuming task for dev to maintain hotfix for previous releases !

Yeah, easier for users, they don't have to care about breaking changes or migration guide. They just blindly update to the nearest minor.

But as the time goes on, the code for dev ends up being a complete mess of git branches and backports. Dev finally forgot some patches and the software contains a major security hole.

Dev ends by being exhausted, frustrated by its project and roasted by its users.

=> What I do : do not maintain any previous release but provide a strong migration guide and list all breaking changes !

users just have to follow updates or use another software.

I'm happy with it, my project has no debt code and more clean code.

Seriously, I really appreciate that article, explaining a lot a thing we see that news are able to understand and explain.

God job

QuiCasseRien··on OpenClaw – Moltbot Renamed Again

:-O

QuiCasseRien··on MapLibre Tile: a modern and efficient vector tile format
All links in the top navigation are broken (404).
QuiCasseRien··on Scaling PostgreSQL to power 800M ChatGPT users
I like the way of thinking. Instead of migrating to another database, they keep that awesome one running and found smart workaround to push limits.
QuiCasseRien··on Show HN: Should I kill my side project?
Nice

IMO, the answer does not come from the bot answer, but in the questions I had. Every new question was a confirmation of how I feels about my projects.

QuiCasseRien··on Squishy Go
Awesome !! Some month I'm trying to find a free game to learn playing Go with my young son.

Thanks for this !!

QuiCasseRien··on Show HN: Visual Database Schema Designer (Angular 21 and .NET 10)
very nice ! Does there is a setting to show the description in the canvas ? The idea is to print the whole schema, included description.

Thanks

QuiCasseRien··on Daniel's first 20k curl commits
It's an impressive and very regular work. Curl = Daniel.

Thank for that awesome library

QuiCasseRien··on Raising money fucked me up
> It's much more comfortable to be the person that "could be X" than to be the person that tries to actually do it

I totally agree with that statement and it mostly explains why so many people does not go down a rabbit hole.

QuiCasseRien··on The latest Firefox version broke ChatGPT website
Two days and still no update for users, it's a shame at that level (of product scale) !
QuiCasseRien··on I hate GitHub Actions with passion
Guys,

GitHub action is a totally broken piece of s !! I know about that broken loops cause I had to deal with it an incredible number of times.

I very often mention OneDev in my comments, and you know what ? Robin solved this issue 3 years ago : https://docs.onedev.io/tutorials/cicd/diagnose-with-web-term...

You can pause your action, connect through a web terminal, and debug/fix things live until it works. Then, you just patch your action easily.

And that’s just one of the many features that make OneDev superior to pretty much every other CI/CD product out there.

QuiCasseRien··on CloudFlare is ruining the internet (for me) (2016)
I believe the problem is not really Cloudflare or another cloud provider.

The fact is internet was built around the idea that everything should be decentralized in order to be resilient.

Resilient to attacks, resilient to outages or any form of censorship.

So, each time amazon, cloudflare (...) fails, it reminds us that nobody like SPOFs.

QuiCasseRien··on Hacker News front page now, but the titles are honest
> Rich developer spends $15k to run a model slightly faster (jeffgeerling.com)

The title are so funny ! I'm thinking to switch for the time ^^

QuiCasseRien··on Pricing Changes for GitHub Actions
What do you feel about the UI ?

OneDev is not fully open (there are some module for paid user), but Robin is truly available, even if the only and main developer, on every ticket you open or feature you request.

I really appreciate its awesome work

QuiCasseRien··on Pricing Changes for GitHub Actions
More than 6 years users of OneDev (onedev.io).

- Git repo - Ticketing, Kaban - Full helpdesk - Complete and full CI/CD - everything links via custom workflow - self hosted

I still dont know why everyone hasn't switch yet to that banger.

QuiCasseRien··on Memory Safety in C# vs. Rust
I have the same result : performances on Linux are better and this is a real focus for MSFT engineer (Azure has a tons of linux instances running dotnet)
