What a throwback to the late 90s, early 2000s. There were a handful of games like this that let you shoot or shatter your screen.

I am the creator of Page Rage (https://page-rage.com/), which I released about two weeks ago. Page Rage didn't get too much traction on Hacker News (https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=49746963), but it did end up being a top post on r/webdev (https://www.reddit.com/r/webdev/comments/1whepc7/page_rage_d...) and r/playmygame (https://www.reddit.com/r/playmygame/comments/1whfp3g/my_firs...)

The linked project "Destroy any website" makes it's own distinct creative and gameplay choices. It may have been inspired by Page Rage or it may have been a case of "multiple discovery". Either way, "Destroy any website" is not a low quality slop clone, it's clearly had a lot of thought put into it

Back in my day it was just stray dogs leisurely destroying my lowly desktop [0], oh how technology has complicated things.

If anything, Spritefusion seems to be higher quality, especially when destroying text.

For me, on librewolf, the entire opposite is true. Spritefusion looks like an extemely buggy thingy while PageRage works incredibly well

hey, maker here. I have no idea of this one, looks pretty cool! I've rolled out my stickman game here with deep care on everything, from DO multiplayer setup, to game-feel.

Seems a little suspect that you didn't know about the other one given how similar the game mechanics work, down to the jetpack to fly around.

It is possible to both make a copy of something, and also do it with deep care and add more features, no?

We shouldn't be surprised when this sort of thing happens in the age of LLMs.

Really enjoyed the game! Destroying those clunky, ad-filled sites with designs I can’t stand was especially satisfying. Great work!

Edit: I managed to post this comment, went back to the Katameri page, played a little more with it and my Firefox crashed. It didn't use to.

Oh this is lovely. I started doing something similar, but I was generating the stage based on the DOM and some CSS features, but kept getting weird boundaries (read: the character would float on unseen edges)

I later thought about using an edge-detection algorithm to capture the page as an image (triggered on page events), but never fully implemented it and shelved the project.

I would love to know how you captured the visible edges

Interestingly it considers my long monitor to be a mobile. Quite peculiar how resolution was used to identify phones here.
