someone at work unironically said they use ai to compose "thoughtful responses" to people, and my immediate thought was that what they are doing is the literal opposite of thoughtful

you may argue that it is an outlier and capacity will increase to meet demand, which it probably will, but who's to say that won't just mean further demand from unlimited money ai companies and then further increased consumer prices?
the article also does nothing to show how or why consumers should care.

is this because consumers are interested in "GenAI" smartphones, or because every smartphone manufacturer has decided to tack "AI" onto every piece of their branding and there's just no way around it?
