How is that inefficient? If anything preparing major cities to be ground zero for crisis makes sense. Major cities have way more people from way more places, so it makes sense they would be the ones hardest hit by famine/disease/terrorism/etc.

But SK also published that location data online for all to see, something the US cannot do because HIPPA. People would make fun of those with the virus, such as one man who was tracked to a hotel associated with prostitution.

How can I get started on learning the low level c stuff with direct system calls and such. I learned about assembly, pipelining, cache, and memory allocation during a systems architecture course, so I'm really interested in the low level of the machine. The problem is I don't really have an idea of a project that I could do to learn the level right above. Of course I learned a bit during the course, but I really want to get a solid grasp.

She mentioned the building is old. Maybe there are other structural issues that would be brought up if a ramp was installed that would have to be delt with. I don't know though, it's just a guess.

Acctually there were recently strong rumors Apple is going to do just that. Makes sense that Apple sees the growing gaming market and wants to get in on it. Them entering the market would be the incentive devs need to make their games work for Mac (and hopefully therefore Linux)

I feel like a good extension to make would be a lying extension. Make it able to lie to a site about any API and have set configurations to deal with specific types of behavior.

In Android, an App's manifest designates which deep links it can handle. Then when the user clicks on a link, it gives the user the option of which app to use when there are multiple apps that can handle it.

Maybe since at one point you did tell it you want to use news to handle it, it keeps going back to it? Although that means most likely the News app was not updated to remove support for that link. Or maybe iOS deep links work differently? (I only use Android)

It might have been that the specific server in question usually didn't crash because of the applications being run. Also it could have been that the bad guy wasn't giving any detailed information about what happened so it seemed like a setup.

Darn it, I guess I'll have to change my plans for Sunday if that's the case....

Counter point: the more the government gets into funding OSS, they will essentially become a competitor to other software companies. Now the government both has the power and incentive to hinder private companies with rules and regulations.

I think that if the government needs OSS software for actual use by the government, then that's fine. Don't make the government become a competitor to private industry. Look how that turned out with Uber vs. Taxis.

OSS is just like anything in the free market. If people and companies want it that much, they will spend time and energy on it.

Yea I agree. Anyone can say they want to stop something, but untill actual debate starts happening over the bill nothing is even close to being passed.

I had to stop like 10 minutes in a never got to the action. It was so heavy-handed in it's political commentary that it just came off as cringy.

That's hilarious. In trying to catch people stealing, they stole a trademarked logo.

I got rid of all of those except Gmail (need it for work, school, etc) and WhatsApp (only use for one group chat) and it is very freeing. I realized social media (Instagram especially) breeds unhappiness with your life, while all of the models and "influencers" on it don't live realistic lives. In fact I've experienced first had that their posts are often doctored or don't acctually portray the situation accurately.

Damn that's a great idea. I might acctually try and write that.
