The problem comes when one (or multiple) measure(s) are an approximation of some ideal measure for the target. For example the famous example [1] of the measuring rat tails to determine killed rats (target). The faulty assumption here was that the only way to hand in a rat's tail is by killing them.
Also, I think it would matter a lot on how X vs Y turned out later. I.e. the difference between always disagreeing but also always getting it wrong. Or sometimes disagreeing but then getting it right and handling being right gracefully.
In my experience "shut your mouth and do as you're told" people are appreciated, more than employees who just disagree to disagree. However, the employees who voice their opinions, are able to articulate their stance and know when it is important to budge or when not to budge are always valued higher.
I think only on income or assets generated in Germany whilst abroad. I do believe the US is one of the only (if not the only) countries that taxes non residents on their income generated abroad.
I really prefer UNIX over windows for development but enjoy windows for the 'office' software. OSX really hits the sweet spot in between for me.
What would you recommend windows with WSL2 or VM? Archlinux dual-boot?
