MrksHfmn··on A deliberate practice app for guitar players who want to level up
Great, thank you! Does it play the tabs? I only hear the metronome clicking... Is there any option to import? Some kind of Guitar Pro import would be nice. I think gp-files are not propietary.
MrksHfmn··on Blocky – a DNS proxy and ad-blocker for the local network
i have stopped using local dns resolvers. too many pitfalls, dns leaks or the dns resolver is down and the devices can't resolve the addresses.

I have simply set https://dnsforge.de in my router.

MrksHfmn··on My New Computer
Should rather mean "my new operating system"
MrksHfmn··on Pop2Piano: Pop audio-based piano cover generation
Can I run this demo at home? I don't want to upload any copyright stuff ...
MrksHfmn··on Ask HN: What are your goals for 2023?
1. start beekeeping in spring 2. creating some web apps in spring boot/angular (i'm a full time on premise dev) 3. having fun with wife and daughter :)
MrksHfmn··on Reclaiming Mobile Privacy with GrapheneOS
I use CalyxOs without any Google Apps (camera app blocked via firewall). I find GrapheneOS horrible. If I want to get away from Google, I don't want to run Google Apps in the sandbox either
MrksHfmn··on Privacy respecting weather app for Android
Really like the app with CalyxOS on my Pixel 6
MrksHfmn··on Running a private mail server for six years, easy peasy
I also host my mail server on a hetzner server since the mid 2010s. As long as you familiarize yourself with the mechanisms (dkim, dmarc, spf, etc.) and have a mail-tester.com 10/10 score and sometimes look at mxtoolbox, it is absolutely doable. My only major issues were sending to gmail, t-online (telekom) and outlook addresses. But there are also ways to unlock the ip addresses and the delivery team at outlook.com was very helpful.

MrksHfmn··on Firefox Relay
You can only hope that the service will last long enough and not be discontinued like Firefox Send. Otherwise you have created online accounts with dead alias emails. I create the alias mail addresses in my postfix installation under /etc/aliases
MrksHfmn··on Making an old USB printer support Apple AirPrint using a Raspberry Pi
I got mine in 2006. Hooked up to my NAS and HPLIP and CUPS. Unfortunately foo2zjs is discontinued and there's a bug with HPLIP. You have to power it on twice to load the firmware ...

AirPrint does only really work with this script:
