MojoJolo··on Google Glasses Make Their Questionable Debut at (New York Fashion Week)
Hmmm. I think replacing your prescription glasses to contact lenses can be a good temporary solution.
MojoJolo··on Show HN: Helvetitee: Custom tee. No bullshit. (Our four-day startup)
I like it. One comment though, I thought the "Type to edit your text" is a textbox. It's because I clicked somewhere in the website and the cursor focus is not in the shirt. :)
MojoJolo··on Ask HN: Is there a future for automatic summarization startups?
Turning the research into a product is the problem. But I admire what Lytro has done. His dissertation turned into a real product.

Hmmm. But what do you think about those apps that I mentioned? They have pretty good algorithm inside, but are they great products?

MojoJolo··on Ask HN: Is there a future for automatic summarization startups?
Yes, APIs can change an algorithm into a product. This was done by Diffbot (http://www.diffbot.com/) which presents different text algorithms. I love their API, and currently using it for my thesis.
MojoJolo··on I feel I am building a new Google Wave
I think I'm having some problems with scrolling. But anyways, good job!
MojoJolo··on PostgreSQL 9.2 released
That was some good combination. I always admire programmers than can also produce good design. Now, I will add marketer + programmer combination to my "admiration" list!
MojoJolo··on Ask HN: Is there life after OOP?
I think you know the basic of OOP. Try learning an MVC framework. Maybe it's the next thing to do to have a deeper understanding of OOP.
MojoJolo··on Why Not MySQL? (Tekpub)
This is very timely. I'm migrating from MySQL to PostgreSQL just to try different technology (DBMS).

But I'm wondering, AFAIK, why universities are teaching MySQL rather than Postgres?

MojoJolo··on The myth of the super programmer
Good points! There might be no super programmers, but I think there is still difference to those programmers that have a strong background with Computer Science / Mathematics concepts compared to those who don't. Those have a strong background can understand some concepts like automata, AI, compiler theory, neural networks, etc.

Those people that learn to code just to code an application might not know those concepts.

MojoJolo··on The 2 Biggest Mistakes I Made When Learning to Code
I used MySQL and I'm trying Postgres out of curiosity too. Django is the MVC framework that I will use. :)
MojoJolo··on 4 geeky laws that rule our world
When I read about geeky law, the first thing come to my mind is "Moore's Law".
MojoJolo··on How 12 Founders Named their Startups
When naming an application I tried doing some wordplay and consider its domain availability. Like my current app, I'm dealing with texts, like web articles. And I'm extracting important sentences in it to serve as its preview. Preview of movies are called teaser. That's why I named my app TextTeaser (and TextTeaser.com as its domain). It's a preview for web articles.
MojoJolo··on The 2 Biggest Mistakes I Made When Learning to Code
They say you learn best through experience.

I learned CakePHP by coding my thesis with it. Now, I wanted to learn python + postgres by planning to port my thesis to it.

MojoJolo··on Apple Schedules Event For September 12
I like how they work with shadows in the poster. I wonder what is the direction of the light to create that shadow.
MojoJolo··on Neuroscientists successfully control the dreams of rats
Inception.
MojoJolo··on Valve Software recruits hardware experts
I thought Valve will sell valves.
MojoJolo··on Ask HN: Who Is Hiring? (September 2012)
My thesis for both my undergrad and graduate study (currently doing) is about NLP. But I only have little knowledge in Python. Can I still apply? I also live in Asia, is relocation possible?
MojoJolo··on Keep a programming journal
I also have a pen and notebook. I used it to write algorithms or some ERD that I'm currently doing. Nothing beats thinking with pen and paper.
MojoJolo··on Controversial programming opinions
That's interesting. And might be considered as a paradox. If he isn't smart enough, how can he write a simpler code?

Or maybe he's just humble that he's not smart enough.

MojoJolo··on Controversial programming opinions
I agree with #8. Learning a different programming language is not that hard. Because I think most programming language are related with each other. They have the same "structure". Just different in syntax. So if you only one programming language I think, programming is not for you.
MojoJolo··on Doodle Jump Recreated in HTML5 ...with source
I think there are some difference with the physics.
MojoJolo··on TextTeaser: an efficient way to read
TextTeaser is my thesis! Details about in the IndieGogo link. Contribute some or share it to others! Thanks.
