Ladyady··on Major Toronto Utility Company Stores Customers' Passwords in Plain Text
Nice try, Toronto Hydro
Ladyady··on Ask HN: What do devs use for quickly setting up a feedback form?
Don't think anyone has mentioned https://web3forms.com/ which normally means there's a good reason not to... Anyone advise against it?
Ladyady··on Resume Tip: Hacking "AI" screening of resumes
They're referring to ATS, not CV.

Have you tried registering? Assuming you've used the same email address, it lets you see them.
Ladyady··on What's the Best City for Techies in 2024?
Clicked through wondering if Bristol, UK, or Talinn, Estonia might make an appearance, but I guess the author missed a word from the title.

Ladyady··on Show HN: AI Generated T-shirts for geeks
The main shirt pictured has a typo, but apart from that, neat idea!
Ladyady··on Show HN: Ethical AI – Alternate Reality Game on LLMs
Sorry, I'm normally pretty good at these but I'm completely baffled by this. I'm on the homepage, don't see a chat bot and can't find a passphrase for the employee login. Can someone give me a hint please?

EDIT: nevermind, I'm in. If I was a dev, I might have figured it out sooner :D

Ladyady··on Show HN: ColorMood

Ladyady··on Job on Indeed Open to AI Entities Only
For anyone wondering, their terms say:

"Direct discrimination means, for example, that a Job Listing, requirement, or question specifically makes clear that only Job Seekers matching a certain criteria are wanted, thereby excluding others because of, for example, their gender, race, age or disability. Indirect discrimination means, for example, that a Job Listing, requirement, or question implicitly excludes certain classes of Job Seekers by making it impossible for them to qualify for the job requirements. You understand and agree that it is your responsibility to refrain from posting any Job Listing, requirement, or question that directly or indirectly discriminates against Job Seekers or otherwise violates applicable law."

Ladyady··on Show HN: Turn spare cash into sustainable investments that directly change lives
Great idea. I loved the idea of microloans when they first came about, and this feels like a similarly good social enterprise.

I don't see the usual investment disclaimers though... E.g. "risk" ... "May not get your investment back" etc. Where can I find that please?

Richard Restak's new book looks a lot like this one: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/50896930-the-memory-of-b...

Which led me down a confusing path. Can anyone shed any light on it? Is it common for a publisher to reuse the same cover and style for another similar book? Why does the ISBN for Ilchi Lee's book take me to Restak's?

Maybe it's an elaborate joke on memory...

Ladyady··on How to Delete Gmail Attachments Without Deleting the Emails
Nice app. I'm forever running out of Google One storage and didn't realise this was possible.

On your blog, as it's obvious you're the creator of the tool, I think it would go over better if you said something like:

'Fortunately, I've created a web app called Unattach that solves this use case.'

Also, please consider left aligning your text as dyslexic people struggle with justified copy.

Ladyady··on Ask HN: Is there a tool / product that enables commenting on HTML elements?
Ybug.io is the best I've found for this purpose. The only thing it doesn't do is collect the DOM element information. The user can choose to send a report with a full-screen screenshot or annotate a part of it.

It also sends console errors if you want it to.
