KetoManx64··on 192GB Framework Desktop open for pre-order
It's like a 15 minute job, not that bad
KetoManx64··on Show HN: Sarala – An open-source WYSIWYG Markdown editor
Especially considering Obsidian just announced that the next major release will allow opening any .MD files with Obsidian for viewing/editing
KetoManx64··on Price Increases for 2GB Raspberry Pi 4 and Raspberry Pi 5
But again, you're assuming that that's a bad thing. In fact if they were still doing the same thing that they were 14 years ago it would mean that they had failed their mission of helping bring low powered devices to the underprivileged. They jump started a market that has created dozens of competitors that are competing to provide the best value for the lowest price to the market with their own niche fits and geo locations and sourcing deals, etc, etc.
KetoManx64··on Show HN: Jevstiller – Distill Jev into a local model, with a disagreement bound
Why would it be against the rules to use the previous answers that the AI model gave you within your own project? That's like saying you can't use your Claude code convo history to answer questions within your codebase.
KetoManx64··on Researchers Drove a Chinese EV into an Underground Mine. It Kept Calling China
They should have also driven an American car into an Underground mine and reported on the fact that it ALSO shares every bit of information it can with the manufacturer.
KetoManx64··on MonoCode: GUI for Coding Agents
You know it's someone's first project or they've never been a business environment before when you don't give a visitor any idea of what the product is that you're offering to download.
KetoManx64··on Nazi Germany had no hope of making an atomic bomb, uranium cubes reveal
> Germany’s racism/ethnic/religious hate killed their efforts for the bomb..

Interesting fact: Ghislane Maxwell's (yes the Epstein one) father was involved in the publishing of all the history textbooks that are taught in public schools.

KetoManx64··on Mozilla shutting down Solo AI website creator
It's a 20+ year old codebase that they just keep patching. The foundation was built in a competative market by some very intelligent people, and today its just a shambling zombie that's on life support kept up by a company who's main goal is politics and large salaries and not the browser.
KetoManx64··on Mozilla shutting down Solo AI website creator
Mozilla has grown very fat and lazy over the past decade+ of receiving the big checks from Google, very little of what they do is actually trying to compete in the market, and most of it is "let's throw something at the wall and see if it sticks and then lets go out for a 3 hour lunch and have mimmoas on our bloated middle manager salaries"
KetoManx64··on Pi 1.0
Why would I want to use a web browser when 90% of my work is in the terminal?
KetoManx64··on GPT 6.1 Sol: Near-Astra intelligence for a fifth of the price
Do you just keep one conversation going for all projects? That's the only way I've seen other people in my company burn through all their tokens.

Everyone else that uses memory files and a new conversation for each new sub project/feature rarely hit their weekly allotments.

KetoManx64··on Creatine may help build muscle even without exercise, researchers find
I've never heard of taking more than 10g, or 20g for that matter, as being unsafe. It's the same amino acid you get form eating a steak, just isolated.
KetoManx64··on Frog and Toad and the Increasingly Capable Machines
No, nor should they be, just because Disney and the MPAA spent a few hundred million dollars buying politicians to make idiotic copyright laws.
KetoManx64··on Dots: Always-on agents
Very interesting, thanks for sharing.
KetoManx64··on I switched to Brave
No mention of Brave Origin? They offer a one time payment paid option that removes the extra "bloat" that supports the company. Brave and Vivaldi are the only two browser companies I know of that let you directly donate to the browser itself. Mozilla does not allow you to direct your donation towards the browser.

KetoManx64··on Show HN: Ledge.sh – Runnable Markdown Notes
Woooow! I love the idea of having documentation that I can just run directly as I'm reading through it, that also has a nice GUI to it. There's a similar product called Atuin Desktop (https://github.com/atuinsh/desktop) that uses Tauri for the GUI and the performance is just abysmal (makes my pc fans spin up like crazy when I launch it and navigate around), and have been on a lookout for something that handles the GUI aspect better. Definitely going to try this out.
KetoManx64··on Dots: Always-on agents
Do you configure them similar to how Hermes does? A bunch of memory files that give it context and then each action/batch of actions is a fresh session? /
KetoManx64··on EV Sales Are Booming in Europe with Gasoline at $10 a Gallon
Gotta love being taxed 50% so you can save less fuel over a year than a polician burns through in one week of airplane flights.
KetoManx64··on Google ending ChromeOS support two years early
Did you ever use GalliumOS? I remember catching a sale on an Acer Chromebook and then flashing that Ubuntu based distro onto. Uses that laptop for 5ish years before I turned it into a home server.
KetoManx64··on Google ending ChromeOS support two years early
Schools and boomers

For schools it can be locked down with group policies, for boomers it's just a machine to use a web browser

KetoManx64··on Windows 11½
Oh really? The program that's been around for about a year and costs $80?
KetoManx64··on Has Violence Against Teachers Become Accepted by Society?
If you receive government benefits you get around $80k a year in benefits when you account for food, healthcare, rent benefits, etc.

So yes, they are living larger than most part time or minimum wage employees. That's the problem.

KetoManx64··on Creatine uptake enhances antitumor immunity
The article just won't load on my phone, but what did they feed the mice during the study?
KetoManx64··on Virtio-nvgpu: Near-native Nvidia GPU access inside a KVM guest
I don't believe it's illegal to run your own firmware. It's just not supported by the manufacturer.
KetoManx64··on Linux support is coming to Snapdragon X2 series
Asahi + M2 Macbook air is the best laptop I have ever owner. I would highly recommend the combo if you're in the market.
KetoManx64··on My German Exit Tax: 13 Tax Advisors, 1.5 Years, 18.7k€ to leave the country
It's idiotic. You spend your life paying taxes that go to fund programs that decrease your rights and inflate away your savings and then when you want to leave they request that you then give them another cut just because you were born in the country and provided value to the world.
KetoManx64··on Xbox continues its “reset” with dramatic restructuring
Good. The market has been telling studios what they want and the studios have just continued forcing their politics into the games anyways. Maybe tens of millions of dollars in losses will make them pause and rethink.
KetoManx64··on Samsung accidentally freezes its smart fridges with a software update
I would prefer not to financially support a company that doesn't spy on me, even if it costs me a few hundred dollars more.
KetoManx64··on Samsung accidentally freezes its smart fridges with a software update
Do you not think it's relevant to mention to people that the appliance that they have in their house might be listening to everything they're saying and uploading it to LG's servers? A quick Google search shows that LG has WiFi enabled dishwashers/washing machines.
