Kazooie_Bird··on Ask HN: Best Place to Sell Website with No Revenue, but Significant Value?
How did you compute $10,000?
Kazooie_Bird··on Ask HN: Has anyone noticed it is getting hard to find stuff on Google?
Have you ever tried using Google Search Operators in your queries?

Kazooie_Bird··on [dead]
Mostly due to age via stonewalling as a grade despite numerous publications and out-performance of peers.
Kazooie_Bird··on Ask HN : Does AWS has anything like this?
Are you asking if they have something like this for their managed services in various Region/Zones? Or if you can configure something like this for your personally hosted services/resources?
Kazooie_Bird··on Ask HN: How to leave my startup after my stock vested?
I was down voted for offering surefire advice.. Nice..

You should probably consult with an attorney
Kazooie_Bird··on What Type of Backup Are You Using?
I'm not seeing what is so special about this provider. In this pitch they note:

"With these 3rd party tools, you are not in control of your data, your data is still at risk to potential breaches, and you are paying high monthly storage fees."

and a few sentences later when describing their product:

"What you need is Syncrify, a private-cloud backup and synchronization solution that keeps your data 100% secure and private."

Why should a business use this tool when larger and more reputable companies do the same? I feel that this is 100% a play on buzzwords.

Kazooie_Bird··on Ask HN: Developers, How do you keep yourselves motivated?

Kazooie_Bird··on Facebook requires your number and then links your data
I'm curious why actions like this aren't governed.
Kazooie_Bird··on Sugary drink sales in Philadelphia fall 38% after city adopted soda tax, study
"Some residents crossed city lines to buy soft drinks outside the city"

It's interesting that residents would travel to another city to purchase the beverages. I wonder how much extra in travel (gas) each spent on average.

Kazooie_Bird··on Ask HN: Why do companies still not let you choose your security questions?
Storing custom questions requires a larger persistence footprint.
Kazooie_Bird··on An interesting Amazon Linux memory bug

Kazooie_Bird··on An interesting Amazon Linux memory bug
Any idea which version of CentOS this was encountered on?

Kazooie_Bird··on Rebranding My Mom
"The rest of their cushion was burned by my B.A. in English."

It's interesting how the first thought is to sell the house rather than providing their child with life experience that decisions (such as taking loans) have impacts.

Kazooie_Bird··on Commit Comp, Free lunch for the most committed
Could an incentive like this be counterintuitive by promoting faster/sloppier work? Just because a developer commits frequently does not evaluate the quality of work, thus punishing developers working more complicated and thought out features.

If Notch's 'comments and opinions' do not reflect Mojang or Microsoft, they should be the bigger person and let him attend.
Kazooie_Bird··on Don't Talk to the Police – James Duane
This is a classic great listen with an interesting perspective. Having had listened multiple times to fill an otherwise silent void, his arguments feel geared towards those who have 100% without a doubt committed a crime, which is fine, but such advice during a routine pull over may be counterproductive.

Of course, using his example of not admitting you were going 'x' over the speed limit is obvious (not to most, though), it may be beneficial to have -some- transparency and personable traits that most often eases the situation.

At this point, you may be asking yourself how this could possibly ease a scenario as such... Well, here's the thing - if someone were pulled over (no matter what cause)and acted as many 'Sovereign Citizens' do, it can be expected without a doubt that escalation will occur due to insubordination. It's a very fine line, and honestly may be a gamble depending on the encounter premise, who the official is, and where you are located.

In short: Think before you speak :)

Kazooie_Bird··on Are architecture comps going to become the default
Both graphic design and building architecture require significant knowledge of UI/UX (yes - even building architecture).

Since UI/UX is making its round in the technology environment, I wouldn't be surprised if trends 'hop' disciplines despite being loosely related. This may be why more arch symposiums are appearing.

Kazooie_Bird··on Ask HN: Talented Young Founder in Need of Help
To be honest, his actions are very worrisome and should raise red flags.

While he may be talented, such prioritization can lead to massive failure, burn out, and/or even worse.. Maybe sit down with him to rationalize his thoughts and plan.

Providing a hand out or alternative to avoid the problem is simply encouraging the self-destructive behavior. Always aim for solving the root problem - bandages don't work in the long term.

Kazooie_Bird··on Which book is the best for entering the field of game development?
While I haven't committed to a single book, here's a useful resource for referencing. You can find many snippets across the internet if you don't want to purchase.

Kazooie_Bird··on Ask HN: Will potentially be sue as a developer
Did you know about the ex-coworker while you were working for the owner? If so, this should have been a major red flag. Proceed with caution in the future and good luck
Kazooie_Bird··on Unofficial Binance lag and downtime compensation giveaway
Glad to hear that the funds are safu.
Kazooie_Bird··on Ask HN: What should be considered when starting a web development project?
A 'right' answer for this will always vary based on the project goal, MVP (Minimum Viable Product), and development workflow that you want to follow. If you provide more context, it may result in suggestions with a better scope instead of comments that suggest random libraries and development strategies.
Kazooie_Bird··on Please Review My Landing Page
I was able to briefly look at this and it feels very square and sharp. Maybe implementing UX/UI design patterns would make the landing page flow more and overall more appealing.
Kazooie_Bird··on The Internet Was Built on the Free Labor of OSS Devs. Is That Sustainable?
Didn't Al Gore solely invent the internet? :)
Kazooie_Bird··on NordVPN Dominates VPN Market Share, and That Will Likely Continue
I've noticed many YouTube channels promoting their brand heavily. Has anyone used their service? Thoughts/experiences?
Kazooie_Bird··on Building an Online IRR Calculator with React
Listeners should be implemented that allow post-valid calculation, recalculation based on field change for a true reactive experience.
Kazooie_Bird··on Gävle goat
