I was considering it (very lucky the traffic cleared), but it was a major highway at midnight that was closed due to flooding ahead, and emergency vehicles were speeding down the shoulder fairly frequently. I didn’t consider it safe for me to leave the vehicle.
I don’t get how this is a “gotcha.” That’s like being shocked that people at Black Rock want to be paid in USD and not mutual funds, or employees at Exxon want to be paid in fiat instead of barrels of crude oil. Food, credit card bills, land lords, and utility services demand to be paid in USD regardless of the value of whatever commodity an employer trades.
> The next transaction will be Likely ahead of that price correct?
Being a “next transaction” is a mighty assumption. Just because you list something high doesn’t mean anyone is willing to actually by what you list. If that were the case, the values of an NFT project would theoretically never dip.
I have these bags made for urine or vomit with a gel in it that will congealed the contents. I was stranded on a closed highway and had to pee so bad. Never again.
My delivery isn’t until June but I’ve held off on buying FSD (maybe I’ll enable it for the month when I do a long trip), but I’m worried about this fantom braking issue I’ve heard about.
Can’t you ask the same of chess? Can you win a game of chess, only knowing the rules and nothing else? Absolutely (depending on opponent), but you aren’t doing yourself any favors.
A stock exchange isn’t necessary to trade stocks, but it makes it far more convenient to instantly connect buyers to sellers. Crypto and the exchanges are no different.
I’m not sure what point you’re trying to make. Pretty much 100% of games today aren’t trying to push for decentralization, and we haven’t abandoned them for an NFT based MMO because the concept for gaming is extremely new, but there’s a reason people want MMOs backed by a blockchain, so to basically say it’s useless because nearly 100% of games are part of the status quo, therefore such changes are useless (or unwanted) is not a valid reason in my opinion. Just because a status quo exists, doesn’t mean the status quo shouldn’t be changed.
A blockchain doesn’t stop devs from spawning objects — that’s not a concept that blockchain is trying to stop or intends to stop, but at least we’ll be able to audit exactly how many exist in the world to determine actual rarity and freely trade the items outside of the ecosystem.
If the developer can insert items outside of the blockchain, then it isn’t a decentralized game. The developers are free to mint more copies of the same item as they wish, just like the US government is free to print as much cash as they wish. If they do, the markets will react and it will devalue the items drastically.
My understanding is that “server” was never an official discord term — “Guild” is the official term but the community has used “server” so it just stuck.
I’m honestly baffled by your take. Are you suggesting whatever ecosystem you move to is hinged on your ability to forgo 2FA? That’s like only hooking up with people who don’t require me to wear a condom. I can’t imagine living my life with that much risk. Even if I move from Google, 2FA is the first thing I’m setting up.
Blink reflex doesn’t really matter. If it’s anything like my Lasik surgery, they insert devices (like Clockwork orange) to make it impossible to blink — who wouldn’t have the urge to blink when something is approaching their eye? It’s an involuntary reflex for self preservation. They also put a ring in my eye that made it impossible for me to move my eye whatsoever regardless of my urge to look away.
You just put in your back up codes to restore access. That’s why the backup codes/words exist. If I lose my crypto wallet or it gets stolen, I go to my bank, get the words from my safe deposit box, and use those words to seed my new wallet. Doesn’t have to be a bank — a home safe or filing cabinet will work, but when my phone broke I had zero problem restoring my 2FA on my new phone using the backup words.
That’s the beauty of 2 factor. If you lose your phone and a bad actor picks it up, they now have one of your factors (what you have) but not “what you know.”
