I have one in a room on the far end of the house that the main AC can't reach, it helps reduce power usage since I can keep the rest of the house warmer.
It also wasn't rational when doing work covered by ITAR and other requirements to smoke something your most profitable client, the US Government, says you should not.
Large CEOs, the very wealthy, etc do not have such issues.

What would help is for Musk to stop being so dishonest when he tweets things, saying X is true then saying a month or so later X never happened doesn't look good nor do repeated promises that often do not come to pass.
Not if you can't get schedules for more hours which is the situation millions of people are in also a lot of people can't pay others to do their chores and such for them so they have to do that themselves which can take a lot of time.

You haven't actually been poor like that in the US. That isn't a question, it is a statement. I have as have others I know so yes even a few dollars per day can make/break the budget.
It's a bit more complicated than you are making it out to be, it would not hurt to remember you are talking about fellow human beings and not just numbers in a spreadsheet.
