You'd probably have a trademark lawyer calling you up
IceyEC··on More Americans are using fake license plates
Yeah, but how much I care is dramatically reduced if I'm dead (/s)
IceyEC··on FAA selects sustainable design for new control towers at smaller airports
definitely better than "moving fast and crashing planes"!
IceyEC··on Automated shusher keeps conference loudmouths in line
The correct solution here is road engineering so that the natural speed of the road is slower, rather than artificially slowing down traffic via a posted limit. This can be done by adding curves or thinning the road
IceyEC··on The developer job market is insane
I interview and then you show up to do the job, possibly

IceyEC··on Physicists see electron whirlpools for the first time
Observed. See. But no picture?

IceyEC··on The new and upgraded Framework Laptop
Looks like they support bulk ordering: https://frame.work/support?category=business-volume-ordering...
IceyEC··on Mississippi is 37th state to legalize medical marijuana
Pennsylvania seems to have started pushing towards that in the middle of last year:

"On Aug. 5, the Superior Court of Pennsylvania held for the first time that Pennsylvania's Medical Marijuana Act (MMA) allows an employee to sue his or her employer for taking an adverse employment action based on the employee's status as a certified user of medical marijuana."[1]

IceyEC··on Rezolus: A high-resolution systems performance telemetry agent
"The resource footprint it takes to run Rezolus at this setting [At 10Hz sampling] is tiny, typically under 15% CPU"

It's a bit scary that they consider it OK to spend 15% CPU on all of their servers for telemetry!

IceyEC··on Tech firms “can and must” put backdoors in encryption, AG Barr says
Or, more interestingly in the US, you'll say "I please the fifth," and "I want to speak to my lawyer" and it won't be an issue.
IceyEC··on How to survive an open office
Personally, I like opens spaces for small teams, so closed offices big enough for maybe 6-8 people, tops
IceyEC··on Falcon Heavy launches, two boosters land, the central core crashes on camera
Absolutely. The payload was apparently successfully delivered. The only issue they had was with the recovery of the heavy, which was, apparently, somewhat expected in this case.
IceyEC··on Google Calendar Is Down
Seems like the whole backend is down as meet.google.com isn't showing scheduled meetings either
IceyEC··on Terminal – The New Windows Terminal
I visited this fully expecting it to be another javascript terminal that runs in Electron and was pleasantly surprised to see a C++ project by Microsoft instead ;-)
IceyEC··on Emergency stop signs projected onto waterfalls at road tunnel entrances
Seems like the liability for damages caused needs to be replicated between the drivers and their hiring company, making it not worth ignoring signage like this
IceyEC··on Ask HN: How do you pay your remote team?
As a person not residing in the US, PLEASE don't send me a check, ever! I'd have to pay my bank to deal with the check, as well as sending it, via certified mail, to the bank's headquarters! This would end up costing me around EUR25.

ON the other hand, there are many free (or nearly free) ways to send money between accounts here in the Netherlands.

IceyEC··on 1060-hour image of the Large Magellanic Cloud captured by amateur astronomers
