The recent HN post about xx comes to mind. http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=4504851
I did not know it was possible, but here is a much better link those interested.

Econometrics is the science of modeling the economy. But like you said it's pretty much impossible to get calculations correct.

I would call them more right-wing conservatives (neo-cons really).
Here is a nice debate with Bruce Schneier.
"In the entire decade or so of airport security since the attacks on September 11th 2001, the TSA has not foiled a single terrorist plot or caught a single terrorist. Its own “Top 10 Good Catches of 2011″ does not have a single terrorist on the list."
So either people got more violent after 9/11 and therefore brought more weapons, or people were always bringing guns onto planes. I’d bet on the latter, and yet how many terror attacks occurred? Hmmm…
Join a start up and it fails horribly? Turn around and join a big corp, no cares if you didn't make a dime during that time.
Lying blatantly about everything to everyone until they find out is not in the same league as checking 4chan during work. Which is hardly a fireable offense imo.
I gave up on mathematics after my first college course but found that for everything I wanted to get into, Machine Learning & Bayesian stats, it was essential . A year later I know math better than ever before even though I haven't stepped inside a classroom in years.
You're probably getting bored because most math books are hundreds of pages long and in addition to the material they include mathematicians bio's, several solution methods, and the explanations of edge cases.
“If you go home with somebody, and they don't have books, don't fuck 'em!” ― John Waters
Though I remember reading a much more eloquent version of that quote somewhere this is all google brought up.
To each his own, sex just seems like a fun activity you do with someone that you really like and have feelings for.
Weapons are like drugs, they don't necessarily hurt anyone unless you plan to invade my home or threaten me. Assassination implies that the sole goal is killing a target, buying a gun can be for protection, for a collection, for fun and hobby, for sustenance, ect.
If either existed (in brick and motor or amazon style stores) I would frequent both regularly.
Are PhD's a prerequisite?
But more importantly;
"Entrepreneurs(with a big E) get subsidized security, roads, mail, water, food, electricity, education, health care, etc."
I'm pretty sure it's the other way around. The taxes levied on businesses and individuals pay for the (often shoddy and wasteful) infrastructure and services.
I think if you can get into a Carnegie Melon or Harvard then you should definitely attend, but there are over 2500 universities in the US. I, like many others, did not have any direction in high school and ended up attending a local state school where most of the professors were grad students more preoccupied with their own course load than with their students being able to understand the material.
