FeaturelessBug··on Please, Enough with the Dead Butterflies
I absolutely love that this person it enamored with butterflies enough that they recognized this descrepancy in the way they are depicted in advertisements.
FeaturelessBug··on Employer used Work Number to out employee with 3 current jobs, fires her
This is really good to know- I shared this mainly as a warning to people who might be caught up in the same mess.
FeaturelessBug··on The hypersane are among us
I would argue that we all are, but I'm definitely crinkling my eyebrows a bit about the idea of living in a barrel and subsisting on a steady diet of onions
FeaturelessBug··on Companies are increasingly tracking eye movements – but is it ethical?
I agree with you. It feels like we are certainly headed to a cyberpunk future for sure
FeaturelessBug··on Cancer vaccine could be available before 2030
This is amazing. To imagine a world where we could actually start to eradicate cancer...
FeaturelessBug··on States are moving to penalize 'cyber-flashing'
I don't know why laws like this have taken so long to start being implemented
FeaturelessBug··on Twillio the only way to send transactional SMS?
I've never used Sendgrid but with Courier you send 10,000 free messages per month so you can try before you buy.

"Launch new channels in minutes Courier supports email, SMS, push, in-app, and multiple chat channels in a single API. Start supporting a new channel with the click of a button—no need to write more code."

FeaturelessBug··on What you might have missed at Black Hat and Def Con 2022
It helped mine too. Hopefully next year I'll actually make it
FeaturelessBug··on A transhuman biohacker implanted over 50 chips and magnets in her body
The article addresses this.
FeaturelessBug··on Slab City reaches its boiling point
I'm interested in going after reading about it, but also scared.
FeaturelessBug··on Alleged Tornado Cash developer arrested in Amsterdam
It's concerning on a lot of levels and I don't understand it fully myself, it feels like an overreach
FeaturelessBug··on The rise of lonely, single men
Why do you feel entitled to ask your coworkers on dates?
FeaturelessBug··on The rise of lonely, single men
Are you saying that the average person having sex with more than one person is cheating or simply only persuing casual relationships?
FeaturelessBug··on Canadian law allows for assisted suicide for patients with psychiatric disorders
This is horrid. Thank you for sharing this info.
FeaturelessBug··on The rise of lonely, single men
Why do you hang your own self worth on getting a partner over bettering yourself as an individual and building relationships that don't center on romantic partnership?
FeaturelessBug··on Remote worker says reprimanded for using ‘mouse jiggler’ app
This is great input and advice for contractors. I'm going to start applying this
FeaturelessBug··on Ask HN: Product led growth project managers, networking and education?
I would try the meet up website and try to go local to start.
FeaturelessBug··on Ask HN: Digital nomads of HN, how do you do it?
I wanted to ask a general question about how you decide where to pay taxes? Like are you paying income taxes in every city you reside in over certain number of days?
FeaturelessBug··on Friendly reminder: Your phone’s water resistance rating doesn't mean much
I have definitely been fooled by this. I have a pair of headphones that claim to be water proof too, I wonder if that's also a lie
FeaturelessBug··on TikTok’s Poison Pill
It's really aggravating to me because I use different social media sites for different purposes. I understand that our current business model revolves around making more and more money, but if all of the social media sites are the same then they won't be making any money because people won't want to deal with multiple accounts.
FeaturelessBug··on The Consciousness of Bees
I find it fascinating too! Thank you for the recommendation, I will definitely check it out
FeaturelessBug··on The Consciousness of Bees
It takes a while to get to the meat of the article, about five paragraphs in when they start to describe the studies.
FeaturelessBug··on How a cooling vest invented by a furry made it's way into the US military (2019)
That's a whole lot of yikes. You should reread your entire comment thread and think about "not wanting to advocate for hate" "but" mentality.
FeaturelessBug··on Cyberpunk RPG claims to teach real hacking skills
I have to buy this
FeaturelessBug··on Nerds Are Trolling Tesla Owners by Wirelessly Opening Charging Ports
This is harmless fun right? Like it's not like this will cause damage in anyway or impact security?
FeaturelessBug··on Religious Sites Carry More Malware Than Porn Sites, Security Firm Reports
Didn't you hear? We are going backwards in time now
FeaturelessBug··on In Memoriam: Forgetting Your Password
I seriously have to reset passwords every 2-3 days for different websites AND I use a password manager. It's maddening and embarrassing and sometimes it feels like someone is playing a mean joke on me
FeaturelessBug··on Tech Giants Brace for Legal Mess of Abortion Data Subpoenas
I'm getting really tired of people downplaying the significance of what is happening in the United States right at this moment.

I don't think anyone is saying this is the "first time" the big tech dragnet is harming folks. It's going to be a "mess" because of the sheer amount of data and legal bureaucracy that is very likely to go into this.

Location, application, medical, messaging data for half of the population of up to 22 states who are very likely going to be leveraging big companies to turn data over so they can arrest citizens seeking a medical procedure that is life or death. How is that not a mess? It's far more than a "few extra requests" imo

FeaturelessBug··on Police Are Harassing Mom Who Pulled Kids from Uvalde School Shooting
I agree with all of you. It's frightening and becoming ever clearer that there is no protection for us
