hi,

i'm fed up of people in marketing/product asking to update sms templates every now and then.

is there a tool like sendgrid but for SMS?

I have researched (but never used in production) SNS https://aws.amazon.com/sns/.

Watching this post though, because I'd like to see if there is a defacto standard people like.

I've never used Sendgrid but with Courier you send 10,000 free messages per month so you can try before you buy.

In the old days (2006 ) we used to connect a Nokia phone in the data center with a USB cable

Also somewhere must still have a folder of scripts to bulk register ICQ accounts and send free SMS

This works --- for a while, until you starting sending more than a few hundred SMS per day.

Your wireless service contract specifies "personal use" --- not data center operations. This is a vague definition at the discretion of the service provider but at some point, they will cut you off.

Plivo is another alternative.

It's not intended for bulk messaging, which can result in messages being reported as spam and blocked.
