I have over 20 years of experience in the development industry, with roles such as developer, pre-sales, trainer, and software architect.

My primary expertise is in APIs, starting with SOAP services in 2001 and staying updated on SOA and REST. I also have experience in EAI, ESB, and integration workflow engines. Recently, I have focused on honing my skills in AuthN and AuthZ with Spring Security and various authorization servers to support complex security requirements, including federation using different frameworks.

Over the past 15 years, I have worked closely with developers, ops, and architects to design appropriate technical architectures, maintain the architecture repository and provide level 3 support in my area of expertise.

Dragonbox algebra uses a shy dragon in a box for this concept: https://dragonbox.com/products/algebra-5 . I noticed also that a teacher admitting to be bad at math is seen as normal. As a parent, your really need to be careful and support your child in math more so that in other subjects.
DomreiRoam··on How to play with people who are better than you
One feature i like in go (weiqi , baduk) is that you can have an handicap system so it is possible to enjoy a game with a weaker or stronger adversary.
DomreiRoam··on Supreme Court allows blind people to sue retailers if websites aren't accessible
The demo part of this video by Tanja Kleut https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LHgZTeMBihQ make me understand better accessibility issues. Without understanding and experiencing, I think it's difficult to really empathize and so the priority to have better accessibility is seen as low.
DomreiRoam··on How Men’s Bodies Change When They Become Fathers
It is quite rational but it's difficult to be rational when you're hungry; it's easier to cut on food when you have calm down your stomach. Like don't go shopping when hungry, you will buy more unhealthy food.
DomreiRoam··on Preindustrial workers worked fewer hours than today's (2009)
They are professional trained, it takes 4 years to get a "puériculteur/puéricultrice" diploma in a university or equivalent. You have also nursery assistant that works under the supervision but even that need formal training + hand-on experience.

It varies a lot from country to country, but to assume that nobody would like to work with small children or that, as a parent, you would let your children under the care of untrained people is strange for me.

DomreiRoam··on Who Did the Math for General Relativity First, Einstein or Hilbert?
I don't think it's the case here: "Stigler himself named the sociologist Robert K. Merton as the discoverer of "Stigler's law" to show that it follows its own decree, though the phenomenon had previously been noted by others.", from the wikipedia article.

DomreiRoam··on The Sunset HTTP Header Field
At WS-REST 2015(I think), I did talk about this with Erik Wilde (@dret), and we talked about the fact that is no good way to deprecate bookmarked url or an url stored in an uncommitted transaction. The idea was to add information so clients and user agent could keep track of resources: you can check it before their sunset date. The resource then could change the sunset date or redirect you to the new url.
DomreiRoam··on U.S. Farmers Are Being Bled by the Tractor Monopoly
Intensive farming is also causing damage to the soil and underground water. You can have high productivity small scale crop but it requires more hands. Also we produce a lot of food that is never consumed but thrown away. Both the American subsidies and EU subsidies (CAP) were designed a long time ago in the aftermath of WWII. But I think, we are not ready for this conversation yet.

DomreiRoam··on Littlewood's Law and the Global Media
I really like this: "(if you don’t have time to trace something back to its source, then you don’t have the right to share it to other people & use up their time)" from the last paragraph.
DomreiRoam··on Ask HN: Is there a better way to document complex software architectures?
I worked on a project that needed to implement regulations specified in legal documents. An analyst did work on reading hundreds of pages of legislation to extract UML diagram representing the objects and their relation sand also all constrains defined by the legislation. In this case, it was quite useful to have UML as an intermediary and not force developers to be jurist. The UML documentation was checked and validated by expert of the domain.
DomreiRoam··on What can I do about climate change?
Without going full vegan, you can already reduce the meat consumption and also switching from red meat to poultry meat. We overeat meat and it is both bad for our body and our environment.
DomreiRoam··on Asterix in Translation: The Genius of Anthea Bell and Derek Hockridge
If you did like the comics, the movie "ASTÉRIX & OBÉLIX: MISSION CLÉOPÂTRE"[1] is quite funny. Alain Chabat was the director and a very famous humorist.

DomreiRoam··on What Does Immersing Yourself in a Book Do to Your Brain?
On the topic of reading, read "The Reading Mind: A Cognitive Approach to Understanding How the Mind Reads" by Daniel T. Willingham [1]. It is very nicely written and each chapter focus on one aspect of reading (recognition of letters, extracting meaning ... ) and for each the author present evidence and also links to other work .

DomreiRoam··on How to explain infinity to kids
A very nice book in French is "Le Chat au pays des Nombres" by Ivar Ekeland. The book tell a story that happens in the infinite hotel on the numbers planet. This hotel managed by the Hilbert is always full. It is a very good approach of infinity for children around 6.

DomreiRoam··on The missing profits of nations
in theory, when all transactions happens between participants on a free market, then the real value added by a participant tend to be their sale price minus all their cost.

I think it's only when you have non perfect market condition (like monopoly, monopsony, captive company) that the real added value is not visible and where your idea of mixed taxes is needed. Do you think it make sense or do you something other in your mind?

DomreiRoam··on The missing profits of nations
It seems that multinational uses price transfer to move profits from high tax country to low tax country. Would it make sense to tax trademarks, patents, goodwill from abroad to reduce this abuse?
DomreiRoam··on The missing profits of nations
I'm not sure if you oppose sale tax only or also VAT. Both are regressive but VAT, while more complex, is based on taxing the added value so it is collected along the supply chain. In the supply chain everybody is charging VAT on their sales invoice and deduce VAT on their purchase invoice. BTW, you must pay to the tax authority the VAT your charged you client even if he/she didn't pay you.

Where does the money go?

Once final judgment has been delivered in any appeals before the Court of First Instance (CFI) and the Court of Justice, the money goes into the EU’s central budget, thus reducing the contributions that Member States pay to the EU.
