DidISayTooMuch··on Why has examine.com disappeared from search results?
My website has a number of articles that talk about anxiety health issues. I was getting steady traffic of at least 100-150 users per day. Now I get about 10/day. The traffic didn't gradually slow down. It dropped by almost > 50% on two separate days and continued that trend.

No idea what is going on. My DR has also dropped on ahrefs. I am nowhere near examine.com, but my articles are honest and of good quality I believe.

I am on the first page of DuckDuckGo, Yahoo, and Bing for my keywords. I'm on page > 10 on Google for the same keywords.

You are right. But I'm also spending 40 hours a week at work. It's not that I wanna make lewd jokes all the time. It's just that, I wanna feel that if I say something that isn't appropriate, I don't' wanna be excoriated. I have a darker sense of humor and so I don't wanna feel like I'm walking on eggshells.

Sorry, I am all for basic courtesy and niceties. But PC culture means not tolerating debate, not open to challenging ideas. It's dogma.

Partially agree. I have no inclination to work for IBM or corporate software. Just wanna work for a startup where I can crack non PC jokes. Where the company hires for competence and not because they wanna show off that they hire 50% women.

I think the Valley was like this 10 years ago.

DidISayTooMuch··on Payroll startup Gusto raises $200M
This is exactly my feeling. Gusto just comes across as a nauseatingly virtue-signaling company (another is Lyft which I found out when I interviewed with them).

I read an interview somewhere by Joshua Reeves, and he seemed to answer every question like he was Tony Robbins or some top-level guru. Dude, I don't want your life advice, tell me how to run a profitable company.

Silicon Valley tech is overtaken by this need to project wokeness. That's one big reason I wanna leave this place and work for a more blue-collar tech place. Don't know where that exists.

(I am non-white, and an immigrant, so don't be quick to accuse me of extremist views)

I'm not sure if you are just following these lambo-moon kids on the internet. There are many many smart people working in the cryptocurrency. Just start following Naval Ravikanth, Adam Back, Balaji Srinivasan, Meltem Demirors et al.
DidISayTooMuch··on Gusto Went for Women Engineers: How It Worked Out
I (male) had a online coding challenge with a woman engineer from Gusto. I could literally feel her disinterest through the phone. Now I understand why.
DidISayTooMuch··on Why Young Americans Are Having Less Sex
Dude, when I moved to the US from India, I thought every guy in the US had a GF and was getting it regularly. Boy, was I in for a surprise. May be it's all the media/TV/Movies that made me think like that.

At least in SF, I see a lot of single men. I myself have been finding dating hard here (may be because I'm a foreigner), which translates to pretty irregular sex, but my friends in South East Asia are getting laid pretty regularly.

DidISayTooMuch··on Ask HN: What are some indicators that a company will have an IPO or exit?
Thanks for all the answers. From what I infer, the one thing that's consistent is to look for year on year revenue growth. A company that achieves that will have a healthy exit. A company that doesn't will be forced to a lackluster IPO or sold off for the minimum value or will shut shop.
DidISayTooMuch··on Ask HN: What are the signs that company you work for will be successful?
Thanks for making good points. The VCs are pretty solid, they are some of the most respected VCs in Sand Hill Rd. Do you think they would push for an exit (IPO/Sale) and that would make it worth staying?

The revenue is 60M with cash flow positive (6M) this year, so I think all other expenses were less than 54M (including marketing).

Can you elaborate a bit about "healthy customer-focused anxiety"? I think a lot of customers go into our service thinking it might prove useful without seeing any value first. We have a good marketing and sales team, but I think (and it's my thought) that now they are finding that they are not getting that much value from this service.

Now, I believe the management is solid and they are working to really re-focus on creating more customer value which really makes me happy. Yet, I still think there are several small sized competitors that could provide what we do at a lesser price.

I am hoping that this year's quarterly results will help me calm down. Because, I think if the company is not increasing it's return or on it's path to a successful IPO, then it's better I seek a higher paying job.
