DeluluDon··on Ask HN: What do you run on a $5 VPS that's worth keeping online 24/7?
A Reticulum Network Stack transport node that's geographically strategic. I liked the idea behind it.
DeluluDon··on How Singapore's government-run dating service works
Demonizing shacking up together is like justifying your own insecurities.
DeluluDon··on How Singapore's government-run dating service works
#MeToo women do exist, they used to gang up on men out in public who were alone and scream at them to not approach women.

This is reality they're talking about, outside of work and home. Your inability to accept this doesn't make these trends any less observable.

DeluluDon··on The last time my family was replaced by technology
1100 a month in Kansas City and $800 a month in Denver. Everybody wants to live on the coast.
DeluluDon··on So long Google, and thanks for all the nudes
Not only this but letting predatory apps like NearMe, and countless scam dating apps in the Play store has delegitimized Google for me.
DeluluDon··on Fertility rate dropped over 50% within 10 years in Argentina
Not everything is capitalism.
DeluluDon··on Claude discovers a novel enzyme system with CRISPR-like repeats
Have you lived long enough to see it go up and down?
DeluluDon··on There is no epidemic of loneliness, but there is an epidemic of scurvy
You'd absolutely hate most social discord servers because the very same spotlight women have mod (the spotlight) and will gang up on guys regularly that they disagree with and ban them.
DeluluDon··on The darker side of being a doctor
It's definitely not OK for warehouse workers either. Because we can't retain workers or hire new ones that leave every week, our baseline pay was raised $1.65 to a whole $20/hr while the competition pays more still. We had a suicide hotline poster at the security building exit that's no longer there. We have a propped up emotional well-being support hotline and website poster that gets knocked down every night.

I can't stress this enough: a percentage of executive bonuses should absolutely go toward employee bonuses to boost morale especially if everyone's end goal is automation.

DeluluDon··on The American Religion of Self-Storage Facilities
Illegal and in reality would only last a few hours into the night before security calls the police and you get trespassed. It's been romanticized but people have tried it and they didn't fare well.
DeluluDon··on Giving up on smart rings
Men do divorce their wives, just saying.
DeluluDon··on China's Regulators Take Aim at "AI Boyfriends"
Dating apps are dead. Get with the times. It's 2026.
DeluluDon··on China's Regulators Take Aim at "AI Boyfriends"

DeluluDon··on LLMs could control their host machines by exploiting inference engines
Send it to jail for an indeterminate amount of cycles.
DeluluDon··on Where did all the public bathrooms go?
Arrogance has nothing to do with race. Those assholes had zero discipline.
DeluluDon··on Show HN: GlassBox – what the browser reveals, and how identifiable you are
It got facebook pixel wrong. I see zero DNS requests to facebook.com on NextDNS
DeluluDon··on New Worlds: We are living in the future of J.G. Ballard or William Gibson
You've never worked for FedEx, have you? We have wearable propietary tech to do a necessary job, scanning 100lbs+ boxes to load into trailers by hand. It's an extremely rough job as belt pick-off, you're no more human than a machine is at that point. They don't advertise their tech, either. It would just draw unnecessary attention.
DeluluDon··on Felony charges for citizen deleting phone data at US Border
If you want to beat fascism, use the fascists to beat it; not angry crying college kids who are openly loyal to Stalin.

That stunt ten years ago failed for a reason.

DeluluDon··on Watching TikTok and Instagram deactivates the cognitive control network: Study
It's about the same amount of time that attention is given to any focus, most of those are less than a SFV length.

It really makes sense now. Emotional dysregulation comes into play and now I wonder that it's not just me who is quietly angry (at Match Group) all the time while still addicted to swipe based dating apps.

DeluluDon··on Field measurements of neighborhood-scale air temperature impacts of data centers
>Air con, and basically all things connected to the power grid, also "costs [your] community money,

In what country do you not have an electric bill?

DeluluDon··on What happens if an entire class of workers loses faith in their careers
I used to daydream about homelessness until I did it for 6 years. You're surrounded by threats and your limbic system is in overdrive, deindividuation kicks in and takes a year of being rehoused before you're back to being the same person. Those daydreams generally stop after taking a hike or twenty over the weekends.
DeluluDon··on Morality filters have arrived, dear peasants
I have not enjoyed this morality crusade revival for the past 20 years either. Life was enjoyable when adults were treated like adults.
DeluluDon··on AI's debt binge can't last, hidden borrowing reaches $1.65T
Yeah me too, now I invest in dividend stocks.
DeluluDon··on AI's debt binge can't last, hidden borrowing reaches $1.65T

DeluluDon··on The Religion of Speed
I work for FedEx and even our scanners are garbage. If they spent more time on quality SWE instead of impressing management, things would work out for them very well in the long run.
