DeltaCoast··on Show HN: ChatGPT on 2-Dimensional Map
Whimsical, a diagram tool, has a new feature that works a little like this but you have to do a bit more work, I've been enjoying it. I'll have to give this a go, thanks op!
DeltaCoast··on Changes at YC
I've never heard this as an actual term, thank you for sharing.
DeltaCoast··on Regulators Close New York’s Signature Bank
I believe Circle announced more partner banks in a recent tweet.
DeltaCoast··on More than half of YC startups don't have a dot com
Just a heads up, the url you provided doesn't hit a website. Gives me the error "www.newsy.co redirected you too many times" on Chrome.
DeltaCoast··on YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki is stepping down
Youtube is the top platform for teens, according to pew research.

"YouTube tops the 2022 teen online landscape among the platforms covered in the Center’s new survey, as it is used by 95% of teens. TikTok is next on the list of platforms that were asked about in this survey (67%), followed by Instagram and Snapchat, which are both used by about six-in-ten teens. After those platforms come Facebook with 32% and smaller shares who use Twitter, Twitch, WhatsApp, Reddit and Tumblr."

I believe disliking it also influences whether or not you are recommended similar content.
DeltaCoast··on For longevity, muscle strength may be as important as aerobic exercise
For the past few months I've been doing cycling,10-15 minutes, on a stationary bike right before lifting for about 30-45 minutes. And then trying to squeeze a longer bike ride 30 minutes at the end of the week. I find cycling beforehand makes the overall workout more intense.
DeltaCoast··on Ask HN: Those making $0/month or less on side projects – Show and tell
Nice work! Saw your previous post about jumping to doing your own thing full time in 2021, kudos on shipping.
DeltaCoast··on Startup childhood – Tiny startups are not Google-in-miniature-form
I think they meant they are following the activity on this comment. More common on sites like reddit where commenting gives you notifications on a thread.
DeltaCoast··on Alphabet Seeks to Cut 10k Poor-Performing Googlers
Doesn't every company hire as if they were hoarding Monopoly houses but not building hotels, so nobody else can build?
DeltaCoast··on I don't want to go back to social media
People seem to go back and forth, I think yes it is. I sometimes think when people say social media and implicitly exclude reddit/hacker news is that it's not less identity based and more topic based.
DeltaCoast··on Twitter's engineering workforce could be down by 90%
I think the approach was poor. Laying off half the company then trying this is a recipe for disaster. If at first, instead of laying off half the company he had said "Look, the company is in rough shape, we are going to turn it around, here is the vision... It's going to get hard but you can leave now" then I could get behind it. But this is just insane, you'll just end up with people who can't leave.
DeltaCoast··on Doing what you love when the money won’t follow
Thanks for sharing! I wanted to do the same, went to school for it, but it seemed like my passion would be exploited and I opted to design traditional software instead. So far so good! Care to share your libraries?
DeltaCoast··on Ask HN: Who is hiring? (November 2022)
Thanks for responding and clarifying!
DeltaCoast··on “Deeply depressing to watch Twitter employees”
I've heard a similar sentiment on other forums. I think switching jobs is a big deal for many and takes time, especially if you enjoy the work, like your manager, are paid well, or work well with your team.

From going through the interview process, possibly relocating, and starting from scratch again - I think it's reasonable that some people choose to put up with a lot before they switch.

DeltaCoast··on Ask HN: Who is hiring? (November 2022)
Is that UX role part time or meant for overseas remote? That's a pretty low salary for someone who at this point in your company would have a lot of influence and could have great impact.
DeltaCoast··on Musk’s inner circle worked through weekend to cement Twitter layoff plans
Agreed. I've noticed instagram and reddit over the last year have really tried to squeeze the last bit of growth it can by blocking non registered visitors from using the site past a couple of clicks. I get that it's their server resources I'm using up but for some reason the way they do it just aggravates me.
DeltaCoast··on Musk’s inner circle worked through weekend to cement Twitter layoff plans
I strongly disagree with non-competes for file and rank employees but a non-compete for someone that was laid off is just ridiculous.
DeltaCoast··on I regret my website redesign
Thanks for linking!
DeltaCoast··on Tracking Everything I Wore For 1 Year
Thanks for sharing! I think it's pretty interesting to look at cost per wear. Wish I could get the same insights from my wardrobe without all of the effort.
DeltaCoast··on Lego to expand online ambitions by tripling total of software engineers
A lot of what's fun about Minecraft for me is the physics and crafting. I'm not sure that translates super well to physical alone. If you're willing use your imagination for those parts, Lego does offer Minecraft sets.
DeltaCoast··on Are “Buy Now, Pay Later” Retail Loans a Rip-Off?
I think OP is referring to the beginning of the video where the person shopping says "I'm going to let you in on the world's biggest secret". The audio unmutes weirdly so you may not have heard it. The video for reference - https://www.tiktok.com/@zip_usa/video/6943316833743211782
DeltaCoast··on I built a business that lets me live on the beach full time
He did caveat by saying a "healthy guy under 40".
DeltaCoast··on Ask HN: How did you establish and maintain relationships with your first users?
That one was in the Don't section.
DeltaCoast··on After a week at my mom’s house I'm getting ads for her toothpaste brand
While I agree with you on FB and Google. Fintech isn't just trading. Financial data is tracked and sold by these financial tech / services companies just like browsing activity. Even the "privacy first" companies like Plaid, who doesn't sell the data, would have given up their data to Visa had the acquisition gone through. All these companies are incentivized to track everything they can.
DeltaCoast··on Debt Worldwide Hits Record $86k per Person
I think it may be an average amount between those who hold debt rather than everyone in the world.
DeltaCoast··on Show HN: RecBox.io
I'm a product designer and have just started messing around with react native, this looks like a cool and useful project. If you need design help / would like to collab - feel free to reach out.
DeltaCoast··on Ask HN: Need help with creating a mock up
Based on your previous submission, what you're asking for is something like a design template for plug ins / extensions. I don't think one exists or at least I couldn't find one. Though any web or app design / wireframing tool can be used to design that. I would look through https://developer.chrome.com/extensions/getstarted and figure out the different parts of an extension / plug in to get started.
DeltaCoast··on Step-By-Step Fundraising Tactics from an NYC Founder Who Raised $750M
I think they may be referencing a confidence gap[1]. 'Fake until you make it' seems like it's referring to imposters syndrome[2]. I haven't found any evidence that it's more prevalent in women than men. Anecdotally women's credentials & skills in tech are often more scrutinized than men which makes 'faking it' seem less possible.

DeltaCoast··on Show HN: Ask X anything – AMA shouldn't be a one time thing
Is this different from Quora because it relies on twitter so those who answer don't need to be on the site?
