Contax··on Only virgin type of olive oil consumption reduces the risk of mortality: study
I agree. My partner's family in Spain have some land with olive trees (400 old ones plus 300 they planted recently) and sometimes we go there to help them pick the olives from the trees/ground, for us it's more like some festive days with the family than work.

The thing is, every year they give us more cold pressed olive oil than we can consume, and they don't do it in exchange for our "work", they also get more than they can consume, and no, they don't sell it (not worthy considering the legal/health paperwork and fees that would involve). We love it, its taste is amazing, and we know where it comes from and how it has been processed.

Yet... we still have to buy and use sunflower oil for a lot food! The taste is just too hard for some stuff and is less than ideal for deep frying. Olive oil for a stew? Some cooked rice or pasta? A salad? Toasted bread with garlic or tomato? Sure! But it we are frying anything, from fries to churros, we do it with vegetable oil.

Contax··on What’s wrong with medieval pigs in videogames
And you can still find loose pigs in some places. I personally know the one in La Alberca, Salamanca, Spain, named San Anton (from Antonius/Anthony), the pig wanders the streets for months being fed by random villagers until it's raffled on San Antonio's day.

And this might be why I didn't remember the case. So it's either a different one the GP is talking about -of which I couldn't find any relevant result, maybe my fault- or the GP is referring, like you suggest, to Violentacrez, a very different case that I still remember.

Never mind. I was just curious.

I've been there for like 10 years and I don't remember this. Was it even before? Do you have a link or something? I tried some searches but didn't find any relevant result. Thanks in advance.

Contax··on Kill the Alarm Clock (2017)
> inevitably 1am becomes 2am, 3am, 4am, 5am, and at about 7am I will just stay up for 24 hours and start all over.

That's exactly my case. It's like having a 25 hours cycle instead of 24.

Contax··on Paradox-free time travel is theoretically possible
I know next to nothing about all this so excuse my ignorance -and limited English-, but I've always thought that if you send, say, an apple (as in GP's comment) to the past... wouldn't that apple's atoms already exist there in the past -in the same apple if it already existed (you are sending it just some minutes back) or elsewhere like in the tree, the tree's soil... animals that later died and nourished the soil/tree... in rocks... wherever- and so you are duplicating them and hence creating energy/mass and breaking the law of conservation?

Either it's impossible to travel back in time in this universe or it is not an isolated system... or the law of conservation could somehow be broken... do my thoughts make any sense?

Contax··on Apple’s Anti-Tracking Plans for iPhone
I don't get the downvotes. Did I insult or offend any Mozilla fans (which I am one BTW, even after some questionable decisions of late)? Am I wrong saying it's ironic to connect to Google -possibly the largest tracking company by far seeing they are present in almost every website out there- in an article praising anti-tracking measures? Is it bad to tell Mozilla to be more consistent with their message and actions?

Wish people who downvote would at least take the time to tell what's wrong with the comment. I don't mind being corrected... quite the contrary!

Contax··on Apple’s Anti-Tracking Plans for iPhone
The irony. The article's page loads content from various third-parties, including, you know, Google. Walk the talk and all that Mozilla.
Contax··on ReCAPTCHA and the Anonymous Experience
I feel your pain. Google is cancer for the web. And it should be illegal for sites to require third-parties you want no business with, at the very least for public or utility sites.
Contax··on ReCAPTCHA and the Anonymous Experience
> Started charging now

So... a web/company has to pay Google for the service... while the company's users/visitors will still do free AI training for Google? If that is how it works, that's some bold business plan (money on top of free labor).

Contax··on Scientists discover how a common mutation leads to ‘night owl’ sleep disorder
You just described myself.

> At some point it becomes so bad that my waking hours are at night and vice versa

This. One week I'm sleeping at night, some weeks later I've shifted to sleeping during the day. Then back to nights in a few weeks. Granted, this only happens when on my own -e.g.: working home and alone- otherwise I have to "adapt" by staying up all day, just like you. Not funny.

Contax··on Scientists discover how a common mutation leads to ‘night owl’ sleep disorder
I'm like you. If left alone -no schedule at all- I will go to bed about one hour later everyday.
Contax··on Vaccine hopes rise as Oxford jab prompts immune response among old and young
TIL about the "jab" word in this context (English is not my first language). I thought the author had misspelled "lab".
Contax··on FAA issues emergency directive on 2,000 Boeing 737 NG, Classic planes
And why not just "NG and Classic"? Really curious, I see this replacement of "and" for a comma in a lot on headlines, and I don't know why or where it comes from (English is not my first language). Is there a name for this?
