CmonDev··on Working Effectively with Unit Tests
Actually in this case he seems to be past his personal TDD hype peak: "... a proponent of the selective use of Test-Driven Development."

Hopefully this will become a mainstream thought. Then maybe we will fix the legacy browser languages problem. Man can dream...

CmonDev··on Afterglow: Dark Theme for Sublime
It's not an #indieband discovery thread.
CmonDev··on Afterglow: Dark Theme for Sublime
Sublime people are creating promo pages for something like IDE themes? That's interesting.

CmonDev··on Ask HN: How do I find a team of 10-15 developers a project to work on?
"...though none of the developers were equity holders..."

Why?

CmonDev··on Advancing JavaScript without breaking the web
But is it people's fault you are misusing document markup and scripting languages to build GUIs?
CmonDev··on Announcing Starfighter
Will you get me above £100k in London?
CmonDev··on Why I won’t mourn Mozilla
Also their constant push for JS is deplorable. I want to build stuff in languages I like, not transpile/script.
CmonDev··on In the age of free AAA game engines, are we still relevant?
Just take his words and apply to something more mainstream, like MonoGame.
CmonDev··on In the age of free AAA game engines, are we still relevant?
Native mobile: it is so open it lets me a real choice of a programming language I like. Unlike "open" web that forces me to script or transpile.
CmonDev··on Outcome-Oriented Programming
"We are getting close to a day where backend development will be commoditized and replaced with declarative tooling— software that writes software that never breaks."

Yeah, and the year after that will be the year of Lisp and Linux.

CmonDev··on Coding Like a Girl
The problem is that the rules of man-woman interaction are not well defined (especially since the traditional family was destroyed last century). Is there a way to look at girl in a cute pink dress and tell whether she is there to just present a tech topic or she is also open to potential dating? Women are a passive gender, so the way they dress is one of the few ways to send a signal.
CmonDev··on Angular 2: Built on TypeScript
Yes, it is really, really, really bad.

Whole web is a mess and people are trying to monkey-patch it.

CmonDev··on Jon Ronson: How a Tweet Can Ruin Your Life
> But we are oblivious to it, we can't even imagine how it feels.

Open AND closed spaces should be forbidden due to agora- and claustrophobia. The problem is with surrounding, not the sufferers, right?

CmonDev··on Show HN: Slack Meets GitHub Issues
I wish people did not spend their own money on start-ups, it's so sad :(. Learn from Silicon Valley.
CmonDev··on [dead]
Way to ruin your reputation online. I am a .NET developer and I never behave entitled to OSS projects.

Maybe the real issue is so many people starting OSS without actual understanding of the consequences?

CmonDev··on Valve Announces Source 2, and It’ll Be Free
"On June 24, 2009, ZeniMax Media acquired the company."

=> sell out

CmonDev··on Asm.js Speedups Everywhere
I think the next logical step is only allowing running manually-written scripts in a quirks mode with a big warning message to user.

That would be awesome. If I am forced to a use/transpile-to crappy script language by industry then you should suffer too.

CmonDev··on Asm.js Speedups Everywhere
When people are eating shit for years, they stop noticing the smell and some even start claiming it has "the good parts" in it.
CmonDev··on Valve Announces Source 2, and It’ll Be Free
"...the values of the company have changed..." - a polite way of saying "the founders sold out".
CmonDev··on Valve Announces Source 2, and It’ll Be Free
"Announces ... Free" - as if they had a choice.
CmonDev··on Mozilla not accepted for Google Summer of Code 2015
On the upside there will be less of JavaScript-your-only-best-choice type of pushing they are famous for.
CmonDev··on Sustainable Indie Software
Is e.g. indie music sustainable? IMHO the madness will just go on, fueled by new generations.
CmonDev··on A first look at the Windows 10 universal app platform
Just a small section about HTML5 in the bottom - thank you very much! Hopefully the unreasonable and unnecessary Win.js push is over.
CmonDev··on Ask HN: “Are you a good programmer?” – is it a pointless question?

Case closed.

CmonDev··on Coding is not the new literacy
It's just his business, he wants to keep making IDEs with a visual aspect to them, so he has to produce posts like this to justify it to the investors. Would be great if he finished the previous one before starting the new one though. Finishing is a skill mankind would benefit from even more: http://makegames.tumblr.com/post/1136623767/finishing-a-game
CmonDev··on Hedge fund robots crushed human rivals in 2014
That would have to be a pit with shouting and hand waving then. No computers.
