CmonDev··on If You’re Not Getting Rich in Your 20s, You’re Doing It Wrong
As you said in your post:

> Most women still want men who are their equal or superior in terms of career success and income, as the article makes clear.

CmonDev··on Insider: Oracle has lost interest in Java
Not too late to switch to a very similar yet well-improved open-source language that was created and is being actively maintained by same company:

CmonDev··on If You’re Not Getting Rich in Your 20s, You’re Doing It Wrong
It's actually sadly even worse for women for another reason - they cannot date "down" for natural psychological reasons and the pool of "marriageable" men is shrinking due to less men getting education (which is perceived as "high-status" regardless of income, unless the latter is unusually high):

CmonDev··on Mobile Web Is Top of Funnel, Mobile App Is Bottom of Funnel
Makes sense. Once I am fully on-board I want the best experience and thus a native app.
CmonDev··on Smaller, Faster, Cheaper, Over: The Future of Computer Chips
Searched for 'parallel' and 'core' on the page - no matches found.
CmonDev··on Go Will Dominate the Next Decade
It's an obvious desperate attempt to get attention by making a hyperbolic statement. It's sad to see that it is working.

Obligatory Simpson's Disco trend forecast meme:

CmonDev··on Participating in Open Source
Do not read it - this guy broke Chrome Angular Batarang extension and refuses to fix it:

https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/angularjs-batarang...

However you participate in Open Source, don't handle your community like they do:

CmonDev··on Programs to Read
> I am afraid that this is a wrong recommendation - too narrow, too esoteric, too academic ... I would suggest to read ... Common Lisp code

That is sure mainstream.

CmonDev··on 400 days of Go
He is just in love with the shiny toy: Go is good, Go doesnt have and IDE => IDE is bad.

I have seen a guy on HN saying that debuggers are bad and logging debug messages is superior :). Future is here, but it is sooo unevenly distributed.

CmonDev··on For Silicon Valley Hopefuls, Is College Irrelevant?
As long as the resulting people don't think that graphs are charts, static typing is ceremony and functional programming means programming functionality - everything goes.
CmonDev··on Google Chairman Eric Schmidt Invests in SkyTran
Maybe SkyTran is a good choice for countries without decent roads or an uneven landscape or no obligatory traffic rules?
CmonDev··on I'm Begging for Work
I was trying to guess the reason behind the decision to raise 4 kids in poverty.

CmonDev··on I'm Begging for Work
Might be a religion thing.
CmonDev··on How and why Lyft rewrote its app in Swift
TL;DR: to gain maintainability at a cost to performance.
CmonDev··on Beware of Open Source Software Zombies
A lot of .NET indie games are relying on such a zombie - Farseer. A Box2d clone so full of features and complexity, nobody but the owner can support it. And the owner checked out.
CmonDev··on Machines replace migrants as Maine blueberry harvest blooms
No messed up orders, no attitude. I'd rather have teenagers learn something else somewhere else.
CmonDev··on Keyboardio – a keyboard for uncompromising typists
Combination of wood and plastic is ugly. They should've made wooden keys at least: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Handmade-Bamboo-Wooden-Wireless-Keyb...
CmonDev··on The Effects of Computer Programming on the Brain (2012)
When they say bad programmers they simply mean not as good as them, which is a mean but true and fair thing to say.
CmonDev··on Are JavaScript comments useless?
They help to compensate the lacking type system.
CmonDev··on C# 7 Proposal: Nullable reference types and nullability checking
Two year release cycles are quick for you?
CmonDev··on C# 7 Proposal: Nullable reference types and nullability checking
F# might be succinct but it is most definitely complicated.
CmonDev··on C# 7 Proposal: Nullable reference types and nullability checking
It often looks like a mishmash of operators:

bla <- [|bla, bla|] 'bla ''bla |> func bla @@[bla; bla; bla]@@

CmonDev··on C# 7 Proposal: Nullable reference types and nullability checking
Microsoft funds F# as a test playground for future C# features.
CmonDev··on Ask HN: I have lost all interest in my life. Not sure what to do?
I will get downvoted for this promptly, but have a look at Reddit Red Pill:

https://www.reddit.com/r/TheRedPill

They are giving useful advice as opposed to "just be yourself"

CmonDev··on Why human intelligence and AI will co-evolve
Sub-200 IQ men guessing what a 1000+ IQ man would do :).
CmonDev··on Why human intelligence and AI will co-evolve
Didn't they try before the AI Winter happened?
CmonDev··on MSBuild is going cross-platform with .NET Core
Fork it and change it to your taste! Welcome to open source.
CmonDev··on MSBuild is going cross-platform with .NET Core
Cool! How would you build an app for iOS and WinPhone using Kotlin?
CmonDev··on Fifty
iPads are dumbed-down PCs effectively. Even cats can use them for games (to an extent), not to mention humans of any age.
CmonDev··on Fifty
Isn't that hereditary? Isn't it possible to look at relatives and parents and guess own future?
