Possibly this was just to head off this kind of enforcement aimed their way.

> CLAIM: The newest Israeli data on COVID-19 infections indicate a complete vaccine failure on every level. The data from Israel shows that nearly all serious cases and deaths are among the vaccinated.
> AP’S ASSESSMENT: Missing context. The claim ignores the fact that Israel has only a fraction of the COVID-19 cases that it had in January, before vaccines were widespread. Furthermore, the majority of adults in Israel are now vaccinated with two Pfizer shots. No vaccine is perfect at preventing breakthrough cases, but the data shows vaccines are reducing the number of people who are severely ill, hospitalized or die from the virus.
> So far, the CDC has collected and tested more than 100 samples of products, soil, and water from the four patients' homes, but none has turned up positive for B. pseudomallei. The agency noted that tracking down a source of B. pseudomallei can sometimes be difficult as the bacteria can take two to three weeks to develop into an infection, broadening the window of possible exposure times and testing patients' memories.
We have to call you to find out if you leaked our information? That's some idiotic logic right there. I didn't call you to put my information in your systems, I shouldn't have to call you to find out if you lost it.
> "The department only allows outside use of information for reasons found in Transportation Code Chapter 730 and the Federal Drivers Privacy Protection Act. These laws permit, and at times require, the release of motor vehicle records to authorized parties."
Texas should pass a law requiring any companies who become 'authorized parties' to proactively respond in case of a breach by sending registered letters to everyone affected, telling them how to sign up for the credit monitoring they're entitled to.
> The 2017 report includes two categories for AT&T, one for its oldest DSL technology and another for its DSL-based IP broadband with speeds of up to 45Mbps. [...] The 2018 report only includes AT&T's IP broadband category, leaving out the company's worst results.
I've never had a problem with it not deleting episodes, so I can't help you there.
> But it's predictable that one party would have appointed someone like him and not the other.
It is fair to blame this vote on Republicans, given that the vote fell along "party lines".
- it's staffed by members of each party
- each party's leaders (typically in the Senate) choose the people who will be appointed
- the President typically rubber-stamps those appointments
- the President at the time really only gets to choose which member of the commission is the Chairman
So if you want to blame someone for Pai, you should be blaming Senator McConnell for telling President Obama "here's the Republican we want you to put on the commission".
ISPs are going through a consolidation process in the USA, so we're all ending up with less choice, not more.

(Edit: changing revenue to income.)
Yes, it's great for Mario Kart (before I got the Pro controller, my wife and I were playing with one Joycon each), and similar games (I assume ARMS and 1-2 Switch are built with single-Joycon use in mind) but it's not enough for every single game.
> All iPods lack Touch ID, 3D Touch, NFC, GPS, an earpiece speaker and a noise-cancelling microphone. Depending on the generation, the iPod Touch may have a smaller or inferior display and camera(s). Newer models (5th and 6th generation) lack the ambient light sensor that makes automatic brightness available.
Also it shares the A8/M8 with the iPhone 6, but it's clocked down (1.1GHz vs 1.4GHz for the phone); both cameras are 8MP, but the iPhone can shoot regular video in 1080p at 30 or 60 fps (vs only 30 fps for the iPod) and slow-motion video in 720p at 120 or 240 fps (vs only 120 fps for the iPod).
(Edit: Added the parenthetical about getting a $100 phone. AndroidCentral's best "budget" pick was still $250 on Amazon.)
Granted, earlier this year we saw them meet with Apple-centric press to tell them "don't worry, we're building another Mac Pro, just not in 2017", but those present pointed out how un-Apple-like it was to make such an announcement.
As a first-day developer, he shouldn't really have had the ability to make a mistake with any consequences beyond lost time.
> "the lesson is more about ignoring what others might be doing and focusing on what you need to do for success yourself"
For Final Fantasy II: "the long development time, the age of the original Japanese game and the arrival of the Super Nintendo Entertainment System [...] led Square Soft to cancel work on the Final Fantasy II localization in favor of the recently released Final Fantasy IV"
Similarly for Final Fantasy III: "...Square was focused on developing for Nintendo's new console."
It's been more than 10 years since researchers showed that voting machines were hackable, and I have yet to see any visible progress down the path of "make voting machines less hackable / more transparent". All it would honestly take is a requirement that all voting machines print out a receipt of the vote. Then you could drop that into a box on your way out, and someone counts those votes to make sure they line up with what the database says the final vote was.
1) The "digital" way - you've got access to every issue of the magazine, from the very beginning of their publication - but only for the duration of your subscription. If you quit, you're locked out.
2) The "print" way - you've got access only to those issues that were published during your subscription. If you cut off your subscription, you don't get any new issues but you can still log in with your account and see those issues that you were "subscribed" to.
(Granted, it adds complexity to people who are likely just thinking "I just want to read this month's [X] magazine, why are you making it so hard?".)
It sounds like Microsoft is doing a decent best-of-both-worlds option here - if you play it and like it, you get a discount to purchase it.
