Advaith··on How to sell a B2B product
Thats an interesting perspective. Maybe narrow down the cold outreach based on research such that you're sure your product will fit into their stack?

It just seems hard to believe that cold outreach won't work for SaaS

Advaith··on My First Year as a Freelance AI Engineer
This is super cool. I'm curious if OP engages in cold emails to scout for leads.
Advaith··on Ask HN: What are you learning?

Advaith··on Twitter funding a team to develop an open standard for social media
Thanks, this was a great discussion to go over.
Advaith··on Twitter funding a team to develop an open standard for social media
It will be interesting to see how this pans out. Twitter seems to be going w/ the ethos.
Advaith··on TextMate 2.0
> Jumped ship to Sublime when it was released because it was evolving much quicker. Was glad to have backwards compat on a lot of things like themes. Still have my modified “Made or Code” theme kicking today. Tried TM2 a ton during the betas but never managed to reach the same level of productivity as Sublime. My muscle memory is too strong now and I can’t find any reason to leave.

That's an interesting comparison. I completely agree that VSCode is the rage right now. Sublime was big 2014-2016. I'm surprised atom isn't as popular (I suspect its because of the awful loading time)

Advaith··on Ask HN: How Do You Read?
I recently started using kindle highlights along with https://readwise.io/ and it works like a charm!
Advaith··on Show HN: A clean and minimalist theme for Jekyll

+1, also like how clean this theme is. Worships whitespace too.

Advaith··on Why Progressive Web App (PWA) Is the Future of Ecommerce?
Within the e-commerce niche, conversions matter the most - how you convert a window shopper into an actual buyer. This means removing all sorts of friction points. Turns out PWA is really good at page load and it works just fine.

Flipkart, a major e-commerce firm in India, increased its conversions by 70% just through their PWA approach: https://developers.google.com/web/showcase/2016/flipkart

Advaith··on Launch HN: Hatchways (YC S19) – Internships Instead of Interviews
I love it! Skin in the game.
Advaith··on Ask HN: Can we create a new internet where search engines are irrelevant?
I think this is the long game with respect to blockchains and establishing trust in general.

You will be able to trust data and sources instantly. There will be no intermediaries and trust will be bootstrapped into each system.

Advaith··on Serveo: Expose Local Servers to the Internet
Completely agree, ngrok is totally hassle free and it helps speeden my development workflow.
Advaith··on Serveo: Expose Local Servers to the Internet
I've been using ngrok for development purposes. This seems like an interesting alternative.

I'd argue against this solely based on the deflationary costs within computing. Factor that in, and the outlook for twitch looks great.

Article readers -> Video consumers(YouTube, Facebook etc)-> livestream (initially games and now anything)

Streaming games might be the first high value use case but I can def. see twitch gain traction in other niches.

Advaith··on Why Medium Sucks
Medium peaked a couple years ago, with many startups leveraging the audience and using it as a blog. I suppose their pivot into aggressive growth + monetization has lost them some really important publications. Arguably, hackernoon and freecodecamp were some of the most popular publications.

By removing the 'free' aspect of the content, medium effectively put itself in the same bucket as other platforms.

I also don't like medium's UX, especially the highlighting feature. It is really distracting.

It'd be cool to have a central store where users can publish content without worrying about uptime, paywalls or anything as such.

Advaith··on SEC Charges Kik With Conducting $100M Unregistered ICO
Interesting. The risk vs. reward seems apt in my opinion. If Kik ends up winning, it brings out clarity that a lot of people stand to benefit from.
Advaith··on Show HN: A cryptocurrency news scraper inspired by Hacker News
'middle click a tab to close it' makes things much smoother for me!

Advaith··on Bitcoin
Been a long time since I've read an article which says "Bitcoin first, blockchain next". Finally someone emphasises it.
Advaith··on The Next Gold Rush Will Be Under the Sea

Advaith··on Bitcoin Surges Past $400
Ledger is pretty good for the price tag it has. It is simlple yet effective. Trezor is a worthy mention since it can be used anywhere(even on an infected computer) whereas you need to setup the ledger on a secure host.
Advaith··on How Amazon took control of the cloud
