Text watermarking will surely cause a degradation in quality writing.

There's is no text watermarking that doesn't cause a decline in writing quality.

Writing quality will surely deteriorate if text watermarking is implemented.

AareyBaba··on Robot Videos: Heavy Lift Cargo Drones, Grippers, More
While there were several novel designs in the DARPA lift challenge, in the end the winners by a large margin were helicopter and a quadcoptor designs which reached close to 1:4 payload ratio. Both electric or gas engine designs did equally well.

The most interesting part was watching the failure modes: main helicoptor rotors snapping under payload weight, wind gusts sending quadcoptor controls into an uncontrollable regime. Batteries and electric motors heating up under load stress.

Yet, there is only one form of life on earth exhibiting cellular metabolism and DNA/RNA replication. That original life form formed as soon as the earth became suitable for life. In the 3+ billion years since, there has been no new life form created that we know of despite the ongoing unfathomable computations.

AareyBaba··on Why we didn’t get a malaria vaccine sooner
<Unless I'm missing something ... quick mutation of the virus>

It is a long article but you missed the part at the beginning of the article explaining that malaria is not caused by a virus or bacteria but a parasite.

Also the chart labelled 'Vaccine Discovery' which clearly shows no previously existing vaccines against parasites.

Also, the world map showing where Malaria has not been eradicated clearly indicates that it is found in the tropical belt where unfortunately a lot of poor countries exist.

AareyBaba··on Are any words the same in all languages?
Sugar has origins in ancient India where it was known as 'sharkara' in Sanskrit[1].

For reasons I haven't been able to figure out, some modern Indian languages (like Hindi, Bengali, Punjabi) call it 'cheeni' which is the same word to refer to someone as Chinese. Other languages use variations of the Sanskrit 'sakhar', 'sakkare'

That's because the x-axis is "pairwise allele-sharing distance" ie: we munged the data every which way to find something that we could use k-means clustering to write a paper.

A better graph would be a "pairwise interracial-fucking distance" with the y axis the percentage of healthy babies born. That would be just one cluster.

AareyBaba··on Surveillance Footage of Tesla Crash on SF’s Bay Bridge
The expectation is that FSD should not do stupid things that a normal alert human driver would not do like

1. drive straight into a concrete barrier https://youtu.be/Tr-oF7J0cBw?t=13

2. drive straight under a tractor trailer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9BgV-YnHZeE

In this instance

3. Come to a complete halt in a tunnel with busy high speed traffic for no apparent reason.

And the excuse that the driver should have been ready to take over within fractions of a second of the Tesla making a mistake while in FSD is absurd expectations on human reflexes and attention.

AareyBaba··on Tesla Semi’s Enormous Battery Might Weigh 11,000 Pounds on Its Own
"Also EV trucks are allowed another 2k pounds" - Ah that explains the 82,000lbs mentioned in the Tesla demo. Max weight for conventional trucks is 80K.

There were about 10-12 concrete barriers as load in the demo each weighing 39,000lbs. So the weight being carried is around 40ishK lbs. So rough approximation - half the weight of the truck is load and half is the truck itself.
