zura··on The Art of Prolog, Second Edition
I'd put it on a par with SICP. A very enjoyable reading.
zura··on Life of an Airline Flight [video]
Just saw on the wiki:

"The book presents an overview of the operations of a major commercial airport, much of which is still applicable over 40 years later. Several major and minor characters appear, illustrating the vast complexity of the airport and its operations, including customs officers, lawyers, airport police, doctors, clerks, snow clearers, et al."

Seems like it's still relevant :)

zura··on Life of an Airline Flight [video]
Any idea how Airport by Arthur Hailey is relevant today?

zura··on Ask HN: What are some great books that are relatively unknown in the US?
The Knight in the Panther's Skin is a Georgian medieval epic poem, written in the 12th century by Shota Rustaveli:

zura··on Stripe Billing
What about non-EU Europe, e.g. Georgia?
zura··on Ask HN: Who is hiring? (March 2018)
Thanks! It seems Erlang was not a best choice in the first place, for your project. Yes, please share the complete story when it's written.
zura··on Ask HN: Who is hiring? (March 2018)
> Erlang (being replaced with C++)

Interesting. Any back-story about this? Also, what libraries do you use as processes (and OTP) alternative (if any)?

zura··on The Story of Tetris [video]
A shameful plug from 2001, while we are at it :)

Playable: https://archive.org/details/tetris_201801

Tetris for DOS, text-mode but with colors! :)

zura··on Perl 6 Optimism
You can actually use Perl 5 and even Python modules from Perl 6: https://github.com/niner
zura··on Building a Website with C++
> Microsoft has a cross-platform offering of some sort in the works using C++11

Casablanca, but I'm not sure how active is the project nowadays.

zura··on Using Java 9 Modularization to Ship Zero-Dependency Apps
Why do you need to link statically?
zura··on Ask HN: Who is hiring? (December 2017)
Hey, I enjoyed your Perl 6 book this summer! Thank you! :)

Pity, there are no Perl 6 jobs so far...

zura··on Ask HN: Recommend a new operating system that I could try
Playing with eComStation (OS/2) was quite enjoyable.
zura··on Welcoming Tech Talent from Around the World to France
No mention of self-employed/freelancers/consultants.
zura··on Ways to Get Better at C++
Keep in mind, Effective Modern C++ is not a good book to learn modern C++. You learn modern C++ (11/14/17) from other resources and then come to this book to read about quirks and corner cases.
zura··on Ask HN: How to be offline first for desktop app backed by RDBMS
Have a local DB and sync when online.
zura··on ReactXP – A library for building cross-platform apps
Right, AFAIK none of the available players are advertised as official ways to run apps in production.
zura··on ReactXP – A library for building cross-platform apps
There are several React Native web players. One is used in their documentation site.
zura··on Show HN: How to write a tiny compiler
One would say Compilers is a multi-disciplinary field. You might enjoy some topics more than others. E.g. I personally favor stages after the parsing and before the actual code gen. :)

zura··on Ask HN: Ever been hired through a “who's hiring” post?
Yes, several years ago I found a great REMOTE C++ job. The first contact, the interview process and the actual work - every step with this company was very enjoyable. The team, the most important factor for me personally, consisted of extremely talented, friendly and simply great people from around the world. The company is defunct now, but I still have a nostalgia of working with these guys and gals.
zura··on Ask HN: Who is hiring? (October 2016)
> looking forward to open on GE, FR and US very soon

You mean DE? Because GE is the code of Georgia. You're very welcome, though... ;)

zura··on Ask HN: What's the best library for making cross-platform UIs?
You've probably used wxUniversal. Try wxOSX/Cocoa, it wraps native controls such as NSButton. You can even get this object and use Cocoa API directly (inside appropriate #ifdef block obviously).
zura··on Faithful Elm and the Amazing Router
Does Scala.js also include similar "UI toolkit" as Elm? So no need to fall back to other frameworks.
zura··on Qt 5.7 released
While it doesn't have a similar commercial backing, wxWidgets is still going strong and is quite solid.
zura··on Estonia's e-Residency Program
Interesting, but "pay after your sales exceed $100/month" or something similar or percent based payment would be even more interesting.
zura··on Estonia's e-Residency Program
Is it possible to create a merchant account on Google Play store through your service + Estonia e-residency? (from the unsupported country).
zura··on Ask HN: Why I failed interview by fixing bug without using debugger?
You're lucky, seriously. Imagine you've used the debugger - you'd had to work with such persons/company.
