ztgasdf··on Blizzard’s bringing its PC games to Steam, starting with Overwatch 2
Exciting to see. Hope they pull through with this.
ztgasdf··on Blizzard’s bringing its PC games to Steam, starting with Overwatch 2
Connected account makes sense but that doesn't necessarily imply the launcher is required too.
ztgasdf··on Blizzard’s bringing its PC games to Steam, starting with Overwatch 2
Watch as they force the B.NET launcher to be used either way. It's just an extra hoop to go through for end users.
ztgasdf··on Apollo is dead. Long live Apollo
Will you release the code for this?
ztgasdf··on Brute.Fail: Watch brute force attacks fail in real time
Getting PR_END_OF_FILE_ERROR on Firefox, anyone else?
ztgasdf··on Neo-Desktop/WindowsXPKg: Keygen for Windows XP
Classic. I think the latest multikeygen had 214 games? It's the largest one in the my collection. Fun fact, the older iterations of the keygen had different music![0]

ztgasdf··on Google Colab will soon introduce AI coding features
Not really, I just wanted to bypass ratelimits from certain download sites so I figured that maybe rotating notebook sessions would work. Silly me for not checking TOS every other week :P
ztgasdf··on Google Colab will soon introduce AI coding features
Already did, but I accidentally did this once before and appealed and got unbanned some hours later. It's been almost 48 hours since now, so I don't think they're too forgiving for repeat offenses.
ztgasdf··on Google Colab will soon introduce AI coding features
Would be nice to try, until I got banned yesterday for trying to connect two Colab runtimes together via SOCKS5. Turns out connecting to any proxy at all immediately suspends your Colab usage for "suspected abusive activity"!
ztgasdf··on Met Office says Northern Lights will be visible in England tonight and tomorrow
May I see it?
ztgasdf··on Chex Quest
I highly recommend that everyone should check out Chex Quest 3[0], created by Charles Jacobi[1], who is the lead artist for the original Chex Quest games. It's a compilation of the first two games with an additional third episode. One minor note is that it was developed to be run on more modern source ports (e.g. G/ZDoom), unlike the original game which ran a modified version of the Final Doom engine.[2]

Doom 1/2 has a very rich history and I love to see posts like these get attention.

ztgasdf··on Remind HN: Heroku will delete all free dbs and shut down all free dynos Monday
If I'm not mistaken, if you gave Heroku a valid credit card, it would add a few hundred extra hours for your dynos.
ztgasdf··on Google and Amazon Helped the FBI Identify Z-Library’s Operators
I did find it /extremely/ risky seeing their original contact email being a simple gmail address, and now we see the end result. OpSec, everyone!
ztgasdf··on Vocaloid 6
Adding to this, I highly recommend works from nulut[0] and niki[1].

ztgasdf··on Wikipedia is not short on cash
The difference is that most YouTubers are leagues smaller than Wikipedia. The message is the same but the context is wildly different.
ztgasdf··on Does Someone Know My Name?
I wouldn't say a resolution from 300x244[0] to 3023x2456[1] is "slightly better." All things considered, it's pretty standard to use thumbnails in an article, but it definitely would be nice if they made the thumbnails directly link to the original resolution image.

I figured it was sarcasm since they had the word "Company" capitalised.

ztgasdf··on Preventing Crypto Mining Abuse on Gitlab.com SaaS
Very interesting... Obviously imperfect, but couldn't they just find a way to identify if a miner is running on the pipeline? Antivirus heuristics come to mind, but I'm not an expert at all in these topics.
ztgasdf··on 3500 packages uploaded to PyPI, pointing to a malicious URL
Ah, I see. I was just using Firefox to test things out; I'm not really experienced with these things but I do know how to use curl to an extent. :D
ztgasdf··on 3500 packages uploaded to PyPI, pointing to a malicious URL
I went to the IP and it sent a single file (1B) containing a line break. I don't know if they changed it recently, but that's what happens on that URL right now.

Really entertaining read. I'm amazed how much information they were able to get from the airline website.
