I understand how law enforcement could work (and in some ways, it does, for example public transport officials that check if you have a ticket), but leaving arbitration to the "free-market" seems far fetched.
Can you clarify?

Until I read to the third paragraph of the snippet, I was thinking "this is just another polling website", but the innovation that is proposed could result in some interesting results.
After reading the snippet, I was excited to go visit the site, expecting some thoughtful discussion on current affairs and politics. I was pretty disappointed with the activity on the site.
I understand that currently the site consists of the core functionality, but you should make that clear. If I was just a standard visitor I would have no incentive to come back in a few months when the app actually has some meaning.
A final note: when I vote in elections, my vote is anonymous and private. On hyperarchy I can see who voted on a topic, in 'real life' this information is not available and I believe that many people would not want it to be known what they are voting on.
It has been discussed as far back as four years ago.
To get an idea of the sort of platforms that are dealt with, check out http://www.stacresearch.com/
The search I did to get there: http://searchyc.com/submissions/interview+question+overflow
Most people have a phone on them all the time, making it the perfect device to keep a calendar.
I see why you would go for fountain pens, but insead I would recommend to go with a simple soft pencil (anything beyond 5B). Smoother than anything with ink in it.
In most large companies, you are only aware of the behaviour of the two levels of management above you. If you see your boss or your bosses boss behave in a certain way, you will think that this behaviour is acceptable.
For example, the CEO of some bank might be very long-term, risk free, investement oriented, but if the boss of the trading desk only cares about the next paycheck and is willing to take risks to get his bonus, chances are all the traders will do whatever it takes to get good results without more than a year ahead.
For general reading of good, longer pieces I can recommend: New York Review of Books (not only a book review magazine), Foreign Affairs (although I don't agree with their interventionist political stance), The Atlantic (popular with HN readers) and Harper's. I'm sure that you would find something in interesting in each of these, but again, please post what your particular interests are.
It seems to be quite common for posters here to invent elaborate ways to limit their environment as a result of not being able to limit themselves.
We all read it, there is no need for you to repost it here. Many of the articles you subitted do not warrant any further comment.
I used to be able to downvote as I hit the 200 mark, but now I am well over 300 and can't downvote.. Perhaps it is related to the time spent on HN?
I fail to see why you submitted this as an "Ask". You could have just as easily submitted the original link. I'm not against self promotion, especially when it leads to valuable feedback (as most Show HN posts do), but this just seems overly vain.
If you know which you are looking for, you can most likely find it on the github mirror: http://vim-scripts.org/
As a starting point, I can recommend you check out lesswrong.com, you can find their "introductory reading" here: http://wiki.lesswrong.com/wiki/Sequences the first item on the list deals exactly with the question you have posed:

Happy reading!
However, there is one rather large oversight:H.264 is an open standard
This is not necessarily correct. As a citizen of the EU, I have to disagree. One of the EU pre-requisites[1] for something being qualified as an Open Standard is: The intellectual property - i.e. patents possibly present - of (parts of) the standard is made irrevocably available on a royalty-free basis.

Like you, I've tried using various TODO list applications but got stuck in the same predicament: creating the list, laying out steps, ticking them off when done, setting deadlines is just impossible to integrate into my workflow. Maintaining lists seems often seems irrational and always feels forced to me.
I have taken a different approach: instead of planning my life, I like tracking it. I like writing documentation for my work to be able to come back to it or transfer it to others in my team, I like keeping logs and recording thoughts. I've integrated some high level overviews of what to do into logging what I have already done, or, to put it more simply: I've stopped maintaining a list of TODOs and started maintaining a list of "things to write about as already done".
I guess I am just fooling myself, but it really helps me to realise that by doing this it will help me in the future wheh I have to re-do certain procedures, tell stories to friends, remember my life, and from a professional perspective: hand over parts of tasks that are not interesting to me to somebody else. Keeping a log makes it that much easier.
Uzair: the only comment from this user is the one posted in this entry. The account was registered 1 minute prior to posting the comment.
GamerzGirl: the only comment form this user. The account was created on the same day that the previous time the Game Mechanics Wiki was on HN ( http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=1958728 ).
Seeing how both comments are extremely useless yet positive, I am drawn to speculation. Is somebody trying to "game" HN?
I am somebody who can't see himself as contributing to wikipedia, but some changes might make me reconsider. What would you like to see changed?
I should be able to click on "Latest Infractions" "Highest" etc to go to the full ranking.
In firefox: hovering over the links in the grey bar you have under your logo, the hover background image (light gray box) is larger than the normal image. Makes all content below it move when I hover over the links.
Over all, I think the site is too muted, either make it less grey or brighten up the red. Since you are dealing with transparency here, why not go for something more clear? eg, blue?
I think it's an awesome project though, and wish my local government was more open.
