> It's not about anybody's nationality.
I don't think 'suction' wanted to imply it'd be about nationality, but rather about culture. Germans are known to be very orderly and doing business with Germans often becomes very (!) contractual. And they will happily slap you the contract around your ears, should you miss/neglect the one or other point, that has been written down.
Source: I am from Germany and knew people, who did business with Germans, and that's exactly what they said.
Everything else leaves me with a sore feeling, that it, while eventually not a scam, at least a careless, profiteering way to handle this, on the back of the customer. I hate this agency :-)
* reproducable (when buyin two 10m strips of the same product, LED colors should match)
* lean (I read some reviews (Amazon), where the buyer experienced one or two LEDs in the strip having a different color temperature)
* etc.
I mainly want to equip the bottom edge of the kitchen cupboards with these, so I have better lighting, when cooking on the cutting board below them. I don't need animation, just good light, ideally in different color temperatures and hues (dimmable). Thanks.
Couldn't he just virtualize? There is USB-Floppy devices, these days, to get even the last bit of compatibility right.
Only, if we go full Cyborg / Trans-Human ;-)
Often not even there!
If you use something like BaseX[1] or eXist-db[2], both XML database and XQuery[3] implementations (they also have ways to act as SQL clients), you get REST-, user-, and database-management as native part of the programming language (XQuery).
For REST it must implement the RESTXQ[4] module standard, which both the named products do. Since XQuery understands XML natively, you get full templating, database queries, REST routing and much more.

Why did they do that?
