zilvinassebeika··on Show HN: ToddlerLock – An iPhone app that shows a fake home screen for toddlers
A bit more context: the app doesn’t try to be a game. It’s basically a sandboxed version of the iOS home screen that looks familiar to toddlers but doesn’t open real apps or change anything.

It relies on iOS Guided Access to stay locked, and everything runs locally without internet access.

Happy to answer questions about implementation or App Store review constraints (that part was not straightforward).

And it might be that issues related to legal/copyright will be way much harder to handle then to implement the feature itself..

Yes, adding music/audio features is definitely in the plans, but currently the goal is to keep the app as simple as possible.

The focus now is to simplify sharing, so it works seamlesly.

And it kinda works already - I capture more moments with the kid - and my wife can preview it on her device after the sync happens.

But it’s not perfect yet, of course.

Hi, HN!

Two years ago, my wife spent a ton of time editing and creating a movie of our newborn's first year. This year, we have an app to easily create such films on the go.

Features:

  - Capture clips directly into an auto-montage Stories (this means no editing afterwards)
  - Share movie with an invite link (auto-updates, push notifications)
  - Collaboration: Shoot the same movie(s) together with family/friends
  - iCloud backup
  - Front/Back camera(s) support, zoom, video stabilisation
  - Trim, copy, move, re-arrange, mute, delete clips
  - Export (as a compiled file or as separate clips)
  - 100% privacy - no third-party backend is involved
  - No Account, Sign-up is required
  - 1.04 MB in size (download)
  - Developed in pure Swift, using native libraries only (with the exception of Amplitude, which is used for anonymous usage analytics)
  - Today View & Lock screen widgets for quick launch
Give it a try (it's free, https://apple.co/3q7OetH) and let us know what you enjoy/dislike about it!

Any feedback is very appreciated.

Thank you.

Cool! I heard about Weber conversion kits for GL1000 also. But since I’m pretty happy with the original Keihen setup, and currently found spare carbs (with original Keihen jets inside!) - I’ll try to stick to those.

Oh yeah, I miss CX500. I never had a problem with the carbs on it tho.

:) for fun only!

As far as I understand, the only thing you can adjust on CB750 carbs is idle mixture on each carb. Yes, they have to be tuned, but that has nothing to do with syncing. If you had problems with your cabs - you had clothed jets or passages most probably.

I’m glad you found my post helpful, tho. Let’s keep wrenching!

Nice to hear that. What engine you have?
zilvinassebeika··on Show HN: Digital Carburetor Synchronizer (C, Swift)
Oh, that’s VERY interesting. I never thought about ‘hearing’ the vacuum in the intake.

Great bike indeed.
zilvinassebeika··on Show HN: Digital Carburetor Synchronizer (C, Swift)
The software works on any bike. Buy the hardware parts (super cheap) and you’re ready to go!

Ahh, you’re right! Well, that’s an easy fix. Thank you.

Yes, I thought that this might be the case. But actually, one revolution of the crankshaft should make one pulse - piston going down and up creates one sin wave. And I’m counting only peaks at the top.
