Lack of central app store might be another reason - I remember when it was a bit of a challenge, here in Poland, to get a credit/debit card that could have been used online. So it was a hit or miss whether you could pay for your stuff or not.
Stores like Steam, with sometimes heavily discounted games, make it affordable to buy software and from my observation, develop some sort of "respect" for developers/publishers in people.
I know that a lot of people do that. And I find it incredibily useful, sometimes finding a snippet of code saves me time from jumping extra hoops, just because (for example) driver misbehaves or documentation is incorrect/incomplete.
I hope this incident doesn't stop anyone from sharing their code and findings, no matter how good or "professional" they are.
I cannot find any source to this, so please someone who played, correct me.
It's good that the games aren't coupled in one big Steam key, so I can give the keys to friends or family (not sure if that's OK by Bundle rules though...)
Interesting demos start at about 20 minutes in.
But I can't run any of the "demos".
They have clause about not misleading users and they are enforcing it.
