I've been making a lot of audio experiments for my own amusement. They all have some potential to drain your cpu, sorry!

https://www.noisetable.xyz/ - a collection of chance-based audio 'channels' in a VCR inspired interface

https://concrete95.net/ - a musique concrète web app that's made to look like windows 95. Pulls random audio from freesound.org and loops a small section, you can also layer synth pads or melodic synth loops. I'm often able to get some really pleasant background ambience.

https://windso.me - a sample-based step sequencer that doesn't let you choose the sample that's loaded, kinda fun, still needs a lot of work!

yungbeto··on Toxic chemical leak at a manufacturing facility in Orange County
Worth mentioning that in February the EPA proposed to severely deregulate chemical facilities like the one in Garden Grove, gutting third-party audits, hazard reporting, and public transparency requirements. They titled it the ‘Common Sense Approach to Chemical Accident Prevention.’ The public comment window closed just eleven days before this disaster…

Why would Elon do this if he knows full well the names X-Code and Codex are already taken?

yungbeto··on Artists, shrug off that imposter syndrome – the tech world needs you
Art school grad here - Though I'm not a professional software developer myself, I have a couple artist/SWE friends who are involved in the Algorave community along with a lot of other creative coders. While not a strictly visual medium it could be a nice jumping off point to look into!

Here's something I recently made I'm proud of

yungbeto··on Show HN: A Mood Tracker on the Web
Nice work. There are a lot of benefits to daily mood tracking like this and I think you have an opportunity to go further in how you allow a user to track their feelings beyond 'good' or 'bad.' Yale's Center for Emotional Intelligence is a great resource for this kind of stuff - http://ei.yale.edu/mood-meter-app/

keep it up!

yungbeto··on Why are glasses so expensive? The eyewear industry prefers to keep that blurry
At some stores you don't even need your prescription. I recently purchased my best (and cheapest) pair while visiting Japan and an eye exam was part of the transaction - at no extra cost! As an American I was shocked at how seamless and quick I was able to walk out with a new pair of glasses
