ysfah··on Show HN: A customized Notion Workspace theme powered by Super
I recently found out about a service called Super.so which provides custom domain and custom CSS styling to your Notion Workspaces.

As a designer + dark mode lover + Notion user, it was really fun to be able to customize my Notion Workspace's theme. The dark mode theme was inspired by Superhuman's (the email app).

Let me know your thoughts about the design and hope you've been introduced to something new too. Enjoy!

Wow, this is awesome. Thanks for creating this.
ysfah··on Ask HN: How to learn writing blog posts?
If you're on Twitter, I'd suggest you follow David Perell (https://twitter.com/david_perell) and explore his works.

Also, do you already have a tool for writing? A good tool allows you to structure your content better and allows your thoughts to flow much easily. I'm using a tool called Ulysses (http://ulysses.app). Unfortunately, it's only available for Apple.

Hope it helps.

ysfah··on People are not writing using pen on paper any longer
If you're using ipad for note taking, I'd recommend a tool called Muse (https://museapp.com). It's a bit expensive but it does what it does really well.

Procreate is designed for illustrations and image editing — it's not optimized for note taking so I understand the frustration.

We're the same. I'm using paper less over time, too. And I intend to stay that way.

Appreciate your thoughts!

I appreciate you sharing your thoughts. It feels nice to have a clean discussion like this.

I used to write a lot on paper but the convenience of using a digital tool makes sense to my workflow, personally and professionally.

When I write on paper, it is usually a huge brain dump. And it tends to get messy. However, I learned to be more organized when I used a tool like Notion. I know in which workspace I'm keeping my thoughts and in which workspace I do work. If ever I need to link a certain thought together, I can simply connect the docs using the linking feature.

It's difficult to do so on pen and paper. And I agree, paper notebook is great :)

I understand where you are coming from and I apologize for using the word 'bulk' without providing any data to support it.

There is no denying the flexibility of using a pen-and-paper and the cognitive benefits that comes along with it. However the convenience of using a keyboard on mobile and desktop for daily activities is still significant.

I personally feel using a digital tool like Workflowy, Obsidian.md, or Roam Research brings more creativity to my thinking.

Appreciate your thoughts.

ysfah··on Ask HN: How to get rid of impostor syndrome?
I think it's important to always try to have a positive outlook in whatever the things you are doing.

No matter how it trivial it may be, I'm sure your projects have brought some kind of new experiences in your life.

I have tried a lot of things, and failed more than I could count but each and every failure helped me to get better in my 'next big thing'.

Be confident! :)

ysfah··on Ask HN: Self Promotion on Reddit
This sub is pretty open to self-promote your own project: https://www.reddit.com/r/SideProject/

But to you answer question:

I'd avoid self-promoting to a niche sub. You'd be in danger of getting banned immediately without any explanation. Just update your user profile with your project info and comment on each posts in the sub. Be helpful, provide value, and be fun. People will click on your profile for sure and DM you. But this method takes a long time to work and can be pretty draining.

ysfah··on Ask HN: I'm missing travelling in pandemic. How do you satisfy your wanderlust?
This is really great - thanks for sharing!

I can relate to your feelings for sure.

I'm using Workflowy to brainstorm and capture ideas and Ulysses for writing. I appreciate both products for being clean and simple to use and not bloated with unnecessary features.

ysfah··on Ask HN: What is your best native song that is unknown due to language barrier?
In Malaysia, it has to be Getaran Jiwa by P. Ramlee.
