yipinwong··on Clef: Open-source decision models, and new RL fine-tuning platform
A question someone not trainined in AI/ML field, Is a decision model that easy to crete that there are floods of these JEV alternatives already?

Or are companies/people already building this based on say an arXiv docs? n

---

The pricing is ... hm more expensive but not at the point I won't give it a try due to the embeded vision encoding

yipinwong··on Meta Uses A.I. Data Centers to Avoid Billions in Federal Taxes
Did i friggin stutter? you are not reading the context and you are just picking words to suit your needs.

Have I ever mentioned that it's unlawful to think that that someone is guilty?

yipinwong··on Meta Uses A.I. Data Centers to Avoid Billions in Federal Taxes
Is it already found to be illegal? No.

In the court of law, you are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty.

You are making the mistake of assuming Meta is already guilty without the outcome. Very unlawful and making decisions without metrics/outcome unlike sane engineers/scientists.

yipinwong··on Google breaks promise to provide 10 years of updates to Chromebooks
I will support you for 10 years for this car I am selling you now.

(things change in-between for a year)

I will support you less than 5 years for this car, if you buy now.

---

Google didn't do anything wrong legally, because the good sold a year ago is not the same as the good you are selling at current point.

YOu can have different support schedule.

Yes, it's very shady shit, because some people would find Chrome book in blogs/review a year ago thinking, oh 10 years, only to find out now it's less than that.

yipinwong··on Meta Uses A.I. Data Centers to Avoid Billions in Federal Taxes
The article reads like a propaganda to have media to have general people to make fuss about Meta's tax practice regardelss it is legal or not.

"Trend in tax break" in the article does not mean jack shit so long as it's legal. There are myriad of factors why the trend happens. Meta stock went up, more revenue in, thus more tax break as they pay more, the higher the tax percentage etc.

yipinwong··on Micron CEO Says Memory Supply Will Be Much Tighter in 2027 and 2028 Than in 2026
In the short term, what `Neil44` mentioned "Yeah he doesn't want people delaying purchasing decisions" makes sense.

In the long term, the big comapnies are pushign to have consumers to adopt "terminals" back in old days.

- we use crappy devices, while cloud got beefy machines.

yipinwong··on Gemini 4 Argon (High): Intelligence, Performance and Price Analysis
I am still not sold on Gemini 4 Argon yet from the chart.

The price is enticing for cost per tasks, but let's see how it goes.

I have montly (cheapy) sub to gemini models and has been underwelming and lowered the tier.

yipinwong··on America.gov
Are you that dumb to understand what I was implying?

You just made a talking point out of your arse isntead of branching convo based on my comment.

You are not even thinking or reading, just putting your ideas out there.

---

At least AI is there now for people like you.

yipinwong··on I can't tell who's teaching who anymore
Inbred degrades DNA biologically.

Inbred stems from less variety.

If you hang out with the same person, you degrade in personal quality.

If you learn at the same spot, same places, same people all the time, your learning degrades.

Same for the AI, they inbreed and they degrade.

---

I purposefully hangout with people (not all the time still) outside of my circle for that exact reason.

yipinwong··on America.gov
stop whining and ask your govt to do that.
yipinwong··on America.gov
govt site sucks to navigate and to find things.

I like american.gov. I was able to find info quick about unemployment benefits and how to apply, and what to do.

It was a mess to search for the info in my state.

yipinwong··on Neal Stephenson responds with wit and humor (2004)
given how Neal never goes online, i wonder how long he sat on this to reply
yipinwong··on I switched to Brave
nowadays, it's just one thing that catches one's interest that sticks.

I use edge sometimes, chrome once in awhile, FF etc.

Never do I use brave ever because one incident I forgot about (not about the founder), and it was good enough reason not to go back.

yipinwong··on Sonnet 5.5
Sticking with OPUS 5.5 for resume/STAR generation for me. Tried Sonnet 5.5 but worse than OPUS for thinking for sure, less error/inconsistency check.

I used Opus 5.5 med vs. Sonnet 5.5 High on hermes with the same agent.md, and soul.md

It's either Opus is smarter for sure, or Sonnet is ignoring my contexts.

---

For those who downvoted my comment last week regarding using Opus 5.5 for resume, go get lost somewhere.

I use AI the way I want, you don't force me not to use SOTA for this

yipinwong··on Sonnet 5.5
Say that to Luna's face. Ya all bringing up this not-so-cheap-nowadays chinese models and not that more intelligent than luna and bringing "cost" as the only factor.
yipinwong··on When did Google get so weird?
One good alternative will steer me away from Google search like how Google took over Yahoo/Lycos/Ask Jeevs.
yipinwong··on On caring for user data: NeoVim caused Vim undo files to be deleted
You spewing bs like the left-pad dev who removed it from NPM a decade ago crashing everything.

Yes, OSS can start with just a passion without a duty, but as the scale grows you have a duty to make sure it does not have adverse effect.

If you don't like the duty, just make it die by building it crappy like VIM does.

yipinwong··on DeepSeek Elastic Compute (DSec)
The topic isn't as interesting as how 131 authors communicated to get this out.
yipinwong··on Is A.I. Above the Law?
Just like companies are "legal entities" requiring registration, I got a feeling that the article is promoting the same for AI agents in the future.

GPT-6.0-Med LLC, Luna GmbH etc.

Regulations will come but this promotes anti-legal premise of "innocent until proven guilty".

yipinwong··on The mystery animal on an ancient god's head
i meant to say there is no such thing either, but your comment changed my mind. eye opening.
yipinwong··on Gemini 3.8 text-to-speech
I can see where you are coming from. Vendor lock-in.

Basically spread many AI's everywhere, get people develop/user their ecosystem, and lock them in eventually.

But I find their models' intelligence lacking still.

I don't ever use their built-in gemini features (i have paid gmail) because they don't work well.

e.g. I ask gemini to format my Google docs per Google's material design spec with spacing, etc. It does a real bad job. Many times it does it line by line, and when I finaly get it do it for the whole doc, it does it sloppy, and extremely slow (takes 5 minutes for 10 page doc)

yipinwong··on Gemini 3.8 text-to-speech
not as good as other chinese openweight models.

At best, good, but not great.

yipinwong··on Jev in 25 Lines of Python
Any analogy works at certain abstraction level, and this works with a premise that it's a classifier that makes decisions.

Still good. In practice for Jev the devils in the details. As you all know by now, it's easy to write PoC and understand with AIs (or even manually, which is now a prestious practice).

That demo will get you 80% there

Getting to that 100% or even 99% to JEV level will be hard with all the edge cases, infra, API, communications, etc.

Still a good article.

yipinwong··on Gemini 3.8 text-to-speech
Google is spreading too thin, as gemini isn't really that intelligent.

They are creating gemini SOTA (not really any more), flash versions, text-to-speech, video (omni), etc.

I can see they want to create an ecosystem, but I see no focus in any one area.

yipinwong··on GPT-6 Sol and Luna
Price is a big selling point for a normie like me.
yipinwong··on GPT-6 Sol and Luna
ty for the suggestion. I really never used "max/ultra" on Luna, and will give it a try.
yipinwong··on Claude Opus 5.5

yipinwong··on The new CC, an AI agent built for families
Thing will die and go to grave in no time.
yipinwong··on GPT-6 Sol and Luna
Benchmark doesn't really show the whole story.

I forgot which model degraded in quality as time went by, but let's try out Luna 6 for a few more days to confirm for upgradability.

yipinwong··on GPT-6 Sol and Luna
I've been raving about Luna 5.6 as it's dirt cheap, and "intelligent enough". Double quoted.

Now GPT 6 Luna is even cheaper, and more intelligent, there is no going back... to SOL 5.6 for intelligent layer.
