It completely changed my commute.
- an endoscopy revealed level 1 oseophagitis
- triggers for me include: coffee, tea or any other source of caffeine, fried and high fat foods, alcohol, acidic fruits, high protein foods.
- an experiment with betaine HCL + pepsin was very painful. After that I learned that pepsin is as bad or worse to your oesophagus than stomach acid.
- cider vinegar: same result as betaine HCL + pepsin.
- digestive enzymes: no change.
- pro-biotics, including kefir: no change.
- cutting gluten, dairy and sugar: no change.
- ranitidine: works but effectiveness drops rapidly.
- on-going experiments: liquorice and low-fodmap diet, no conclusions yet.

I wrote a multi stream mjpeg decoder some years ago and it could run three MJPEG streams at 1920x1080@30 on a 2008 Macbook Pro (Core 2 Duo, 2.5ghz ).
Once Brexit happens I think there is a high chance that a lot of software development jobs will be lost, specially in the City of London.
This will depress wages and mixed with a lower sterling will make for a bad time for developers.
But even if this does not happen, xenophobia will most likely rise as it will be given political backing by whoever comes into power. It could become nasty for foreigners.

One of my first jobs before university was doing realtime cgi on an Amiga 3000 with a GenLock attached to an editing suite full of Betacam machines and editing desks.
Fun times!

It was painful when Commodore went bankrupt. I almost considered not going into computer science.
The article doesn't mention price pressure from outsourcing, that is another issue.
What I am trying to say is that we shouldn't accept a salary bellow the average of what other people in the same situation are payed because that will hurt you and everybody else by bringing down the average.
You might not care because you don't need the income, but other people do and they are not being greedy for asking enough to support a family.
I spent many years as a cheap developer and I will never go back if I can avoid it.
It hurts more people than just me.
It would be interesting to see the difference in pay in the same company between US and UK offices.
Looking at these numbers makes me wish I had moved to the US when I was younger.
The most common brand seems to be Pro Plus but they cost a bit so I shopped around and found cheaper generic brands on Amazon.
The cheaper brands (apparently intended for sports) come in 200mg pills which I break in half with a knife.
These work fine, but one thing I discovered is that I need to remember to drink water as some of the symptoms of dehydration are similar to caffeine withdrawal.
