NYC wants to be seen as a hub for tech startups, but they aren't. There's lots of great investment there, especially for building around stuffy old-business workflows, but its not exactly an innovation R&D center and that's ok.
But yes, I'm sure more funders in NYC would love a greater slice of the VC pie that's been historically over-allocated to SF.
Eventually though those subsidies will need to wind down but there’s too few competitors at this point.
For work sensitive notes I can’t/won’t use an untrusted sync mechanism.
A harms-based approach, regardless of the model used, seems more able to be put into practice.

I think it a bit unimaginative to see no use cases for this.
Still woefully unfinished compared to the marketing/demo hype.
And unable to answer well the question “shouldn’t my phone do this?”
But all in all I’m excited about the many attempts at hardware and interfaces — chat or voice I refuse to believe are “the best” interaction models for agents/llms.
I love libraries.
It also feels like all our public institutions in the US are crumbling under assault from all sides.
I’m not sold this”needs” OS level integration, but teaching LLMs to flexibly tool call, chain APIs, and surface appropriate decision/error state UI handlers is a fascinating (to me) frontier problem.
Even if schools hired dedicated staff to police, remove, and redistribute phones it’d likely be ineffective.
Schools are hunting for solutions that need either Societal or Govermental led change.
I expect the wave of kids from internet native kids will be given access to social media at a much slower clip.
If the board wants to shift focus from high confidence near/medium term revenue they likely need a new leader.
I hate JIRA as a product but do find Gantt views useful. Often using sheets or excel for that.
Nice to see another option and looking forward to trying it.
Microsoft will want to avoid things regulators in the current regime will go after.
This seems like a step towards both and ultimately good for developers as it seems likely to bring costs down by increasing competition.
Despite all the talk of less regulation in the US it seems our cities and suburbs are much more protected and lethargic to change many European counterparts
Seems like a perfect fit for our weather patterns but was definitely not the most economical option as it kicked off a domino effect of upgrades I wasn't missing before.
Its no where near as "cozy" as the oil heat was, and the temperature of airing coming from the vents is significantly lower than the oil system. So the domino of upgrades is now looking at insulation, windows, etc. Which likely all needed upgrades in our old home anyway, but it's been a journey.
