xkcd1963··on September 2026: The world today, as seen by one Polish guy
I'm not able to pin down the one-screen text on my mobile device without the page forcing me to go to the next one-screen text. This problem reminds me of https://motherfuckingwebsite.com/.

To the content:

Don't count on IEA's reports, they are just as subject to propaganda as any other media.

"When the world pays more, our grain can simply leave, so the price at home has to match" Not a fact.

At the moment as I see it some warmongers want really to escalate the situation to outright war between NATO and Russia so don't pay attention to Tusks words or any of the hawks from USA.

yes, don't do it
xkcd1963··on Child Sexual Abuse Material Persists on X
The guidelines specifically list name collisions as a tangential annoyance to skip "They're too common to be interesting." https://news.ycombinator.com/newsguidelines.html
xkcd1963··on Government Proposes New Six-Figure Fee for H1B Visas
Arguably it leaves room for people that DO NOT profit from nepotism and generational wealth when the "best and brightest" leave. A lot of important people don't even filter into "best and brightest", while people acclaimed with this title are sometimes completely useless.

xkcd1963··on Radical Study Suggests Life on Earth Arose Twice
You are right. I came to HN with the desire to make some usefulness out of me, and found the means to do so by policing around, pointing out to the guidelines, flagging random posts, and generally be obnoxious. All with the purpose to raise the standards rather than drag them down on this site. But it turns out I lived long enough to become the villain and if I look now in the mirror I see the very thing I was trying to battle.

"Please don't use Hacker News for political or ideological battle. It tramples curiosity."
xkcd1963··on Why Is the U.S. Running So Low on Weapons?
tomhow I noticed you ignore messages whenever convenient. The one time someone asks you to do something useful.
xkcd1963··on Radical Study Suggests Life on Earth Arose Twice
This is edging into religious debate, which the guidelines ask people to keep off HN

Would it be possible actually to delete my account + delete my comments or anonymize them? Please, it is my genuine inquiry.
xkcd1963··on Teacher Sent a Private Snapchat Complaining…Police Pulled Up to Her School
The video is good, but it's advice about what to do when police want to talk to you. It doesn't cover things you already put in writing. By the time there's a message sitting in someone's inbox, that ship has sailed, and the useful advice becomes "get a lawyer before you say anything further," which isn't the point the video is making. Posting it here reads more like reflex than analysis of what actually happened.

Also, "stupid message" is a swipe, and it's in parentheses, so it isn't even carrying any weight in your comment. The guidelines ask people to edit those out.

This is your intepretation of my post. I did upvote his commentary. There is no need to police around - do something useful with your time

Just yesterday I was doing paperwork for a friend with claude. He had spend a 1000 usd on lawyer and now I was doing the same job with AI. Never thought lawyers would be subject to partial AI replacement as well.
xkcd1963··on Did my old job only exist because of fraud?
Big tech companies are a scam in themselves. Doing something useful (that would pay itself by definition) while the main revenue is advertising? really?
xkcd1963··on Utah to hold websites liable for users who mask their location with VPNs
It all feeds into the bubble. Facebook and Co dont provide real value to people

xkcd1963··on All Delisted Steam Games
I'm sure perp licences are more expensive, also nobody should be forbidden from using brands for artistic purposes. If a company licences the color "red" for their branding and it henceforth requires licencing for use they can shove that idea up their rear
