Wow. What a revolutionary new idea Apple has come up with! I can't believe that no other tech company has come up with the idea for consumers to repair their own devices before.

Mozilla hates their core users. They think that things like this will attract "trendie" and "diverse" users, which is a futile endeavor. "Trendie" people are always jumping from trend to trend, so even if they switch, they will just switch away when the new trend comes along. "Diverse" people use what ever panders to their race or sexuality the most, and Google panders to them far more than Mozilla ever could.

Maybe when Mozilla finally kicks the bucket in a few years, someone will start something else that isn't just a Chrome fork.

I didn't read anything about those organizations being involved in any of the stories about the Pornhub thing. Do you have any evidence of them being involved or are you just speculating?

I thought Pornhub banned unverified content because MasterCard added them to a blacklist over them repeatedly not deleting illegal content?

There are certain right-wing conspiracies that they don't want people hearing, even in the context of them being "debunked".

They're doing this to force people to buy new hardware and a new Windows licence. If they let you upgrade from Windows 10 for free, they don't make any money. They've already gotten people used to free updates, so they can't charge money for Windows 11 upgrades directly. Most people buy pre-built computers, so a Windows 11 licence will be included by default for most, so they will make more money.

The publicity from trying to bribe extension developers would not benefit the companies doing this.I f the people doing this aren't representing the companies you'd think they would want to know so they can stop it. Either way, they should be named and shamed.

"Ownership" is an "ideal". I'm talking about material conditions. If the material conditions of a few mega corporations owning the means of production are identical to the material conditions that are said to result from the workers owning the means of production, then what is the difference?

Why redact the company names?

Socialist and Communist theories are all rooted in materialism and revolve around material conditions, right? So when the material conditions of capitalism are identical to those conditions promised by Socialism and Communism, then is it really right to still call it capitalism?

Doesn't Firefox do the same? IIRC Firefox encrypts your data client side and it doesn't get decrypted on their servers.

The problem isn't just due to climate change. It's also due to the constant destruction and expansion into natural/wild areas.

There's really no way of stopping or reversing this without billions of people dying. Since the end of WWII, killing others for the survival of your own kind has become extremely taboo (outside of Israel, that is), so nothing is going to be done until it's way too late.
