My user name is catalyst. Thanks.

This person isn't on Stellar yet. :( I'm wqfeng
wqfeng··on Ask HN: Why is the 2048 post so popular?
I see that thread when it has already 1000+ points. So I think that must be fun, and I add my little 1 point.

It's interesting. I'd like to see more countries. How about ¥1 1980 today ?

wqfeng··on Ask HN: What is your favorite movie? And why do you like it?
Well. I hope the people here don't think that's what Chinese women look like by the show. :D
wqfeng··on Ask HN: What is your favorite movie? And why do you like it?
I used to create a Chinese movie list for a friend from France. http://movie.douban.com/doulist/1317587/ Hope it helps.
wqfeng··on Front-end performance for web designers and front-end developers
This site looks great! I'd like to submit again to bookmark it in my HN account.
wqfeng··on Freelancing: A 6-Month Retrospective
No. I have the same question.
wqfeng··on Freelancing: A 6-Month Retrospective
Are there some online sites to get a freelance job?
wqfeng··on Live CERN Higgs Announcement in 20 Mins
The 404 page looks great.
wqfeng··on Kids should be building rockets and robots, not taking standardized tests
I think Udacity does a good job on this learning by making.
wqfeng··on JavaScript Language Reference(MSDN)
IE should disappear from the world. But it has to take a long time. IE always catches me when some standard JavaScript methods don't work or behave a little different. For example, I use anArray.splice(0) to empty anArray. It breaks in IE. Then I find that the second argument is required only in MSDN's JavaScript Language Reference.

I think I have to work with IE first and hopes it work in any other browsers.

wqfeng··on Getting the closest string match
I think this algorithm was covered by the final exam of CS101 of Udacity. Any udacitians come to confirm this?
wqfeng··on Ask HN: Best book you read in 2011
Is it necessary to be books published in 2011? If not, Calculus Made Easy is the best book I read in 2011.
wqfeng··on Stanford AI Notes(All Units)
It does help for students whose mother language are not English, and those who are blocked by government's firewall.
wqfeng··on Understanding "Prototypes" in JavaScript
I like the author's writing style very much. It's the best explanation on prototype I've ever read. His another article on this is great too.
wqfeng··on Understanding JavaScript function invocation and "this"
Yes. I also find this tutorial is great.
wqfeng··on Google: Les Pauls 96th birthday
same in China.
wqfeng··on Ask HN: Favourite film of 2010 and why
3 idiots. It makes me laugh and crying in one film.
wqfeng··on How to keep someone with you forever
I find my Chinese government is doing exactly what the article says. Especially on Rule #1 and #2. Most of the Chinese people have to work hard for 20-30 years to pay the house debt. Chinese economic has grown at the speed of 10% for many years from the government report. It has to grow like this at least another ten years. Or there will be a disaster. Workers will lose their jobs. The bank will take back the houses. Then most of them will feel like they get nothing in all their lives.
wqfeng··on How bathroom posture affects your health.
It's true. Especially in the northwest China.

But things seem to change a little bit. The white collars think it looks strange. They would rather stand than squat.

Thanks for the post. I don't feel ashamed when waiting for a bus with squat now.

wqfeng··on Google update on China
1. Yes. 2. ... 3. It depends. If the government thinks the site is harmful, you probably won't get the license.
wqfeng··on Ruby on Rails Tutorial Chapter 9 (Updating, showing, and deleting users) is out
Great job! I like the chapter 2 very much. The explanation to git/github and deploying it to Heroku is great. What I would like to see are: 1. Explanation to the main concepts of dynamic web application. Something like this:http://philip.greenspun.com/seia/basics 2. Make the example to a considerable complexity. And show it at the very beginning.

I consider it a tutorial on how to develop a web app more than a rails tutorial.

wqfeng··on A new approach to China: an update
I mean the people. You might know 3/4 of Chinese people are farmers. Most of them are poorly educated. They usually work hard for a living and don't use google's services at all. You won't hear the voice from them. But they are the majority of China.
wqfeng··on A new approach to China: an update
Definitely not. It's just a connection reset. People won't be put in jail because they have searched these.
wqfeng··on A new approach to China: an update
Google doesn't have to make this statement. I believe no one will be put in jail because of Google's leaving. And it's not a BIG issue as you think.

The Chinese people cares house, education and health care more. Most of them don't use Google at all.
