This isn't perfect but I feel better.
Mine gets a quick reboot for going into a checkpoint. This disables biometrics until I enter a passcode.
I believe the real scheme is how many gift cards never get redeemed at all.
You also need to walk in the door with your own financing. Even if they give you financing through your preferred bank, it's not uncommon for them to juice the interest rate for some additional profit without any kind of disclosure.
If other auto manufacturers follow suit, this too will be normalized. Enshittification seems inevitable without collective action.
This is the third time in 3 weeks I've had login issues. The first two were massively delayed 2fa keys to my phone. They directly correlated to Azure issues and down time. I wouldn't be surprised if this was somehow related to yet another outage with one of their infrastructure providers.
My gut says the paper is going to win every time. There are also substantial opportunities to improve the experience for your customers with servers being attentive to their tables.
The table top tablets are convenient. They go a long way to allowing a customer to have agency in improving their experience. Back in my college days, my friends and I frequented a pub where each booth had a button that would light up an indicator above our table letting servers know we needed more beer. It was far and above our favorite place to go hang out on weekends. I'm sure it was more useful than just a beer signal LOL but for our use case it was perfect.
