wateralien··on AI-Generated Images Discourage Me from Reading Your Blog
100%. Uncanny valley but for food. Or anything else.
wateralien··on AI-Generated Images Discourage Me from Reading Your Blog
I agree. The human experience is the only thing that matters. If AI tries to replace or supersede that, then it's bad AI.
wateralien··on AI-Generated Images Discourage Me from Reading Your Blog
Human slop is a much better kind. There were still humans involved.
wateralien··on AI-Generated Images Discourage Me from Reading Your Blog
> You're setting yourself up for a lonely life.

What a ridiculous conclusion jump.

It's the complete opposite of that. I prefer human things, human interaction, with human beings involved, which in some way reflect the human experience.

wateralien··on AI-Generated Images Discourage Me from Reading Your Blog
AI-generated images discourage me from interacting with any entity AT ALL. Bar / restaurant posters, events, shops, anything. Because it makes the brand appear lazy. And in a weird way "anti-human". I don't have a better word than that.
wateralien··on I made a game where you build a CPU from logic gates
Very nice. Tips: You don't need the different design states (select, wire, delete) just have one and make it work contextually. Also remove the play button. Just have it always playing.
wateralien··on Cyrus is team multiplayer coding agents on your own infra in Linear and Slack
I have installed the self-hosted free proxy-less version with Linear and its great. The speed unlock in being able to co-locate the task list and the execution of it, especially with a team, is non-trivial. And having many of them running on multiple tasks at the same time, with team multiplayer, is great.

I assign an issue to Cyrus, it executes, we back and forth for a bit, it pushes to Github, I check the preview on Vercel from the link it comes back with. I tell it to merge. And repeat.

I'm not affiliated in any way, BTW.

wateralien··on Hacker wipes Romania's land registry database
Fair enough. But you do realize that all ownership is a made-up shared fiction that most people believe as real.
wateralien··on How version control will evolve for the agent boom
We need to store CHOICES with the commit or branch. Not the whole session. Conscious, summarized choices
wateralien··on Rocketlab acquires Iridium
“Rocket Lab” not “RocketLab”. Although I think the latter is better.
wateralien··on Rocketlab acquires Iridium
This is a good question for SpaceX too.
wateralien··on MaralGPT "Mythos" 9B just released, and this is why I'm proud of my project
Getting to the top of HN seems to have crashed this site. Currently.

wateralien··on Mechanical Watch (2022)
Are we allowed to see it again?
wateralien··on Free SQL→ER diagram tool, runs in the browser, nothing uploaded
You have linked to a paid, closed-source product. There are hundreds. OP has shared a free and open-source project.
wateralien··on I'm Tired of Talking to AI
One of the most amazing things happened during the day long power cut in 2025 in Spain and Portugal... eventually the cell towers went down and everyone just went to the parks and socialised. Connected with friends, strangers. Everyone was so in the moment because there was nowhere else to be, nothing else to distract them. People would pick up their phone and realise there was nothing there for them and put it back down and continue chatting. People were present in a way I've never seen in these places before. It was pretty magical.
wateralien··on Flipper One – we need your help
Some projects are meant to scope creep. Like this one. If the project manager of the swiss army knife had defended it from scope creep it would have 1 knife.
wateralien··on Google officially announces that ads will be included in AI Mode search results
So the web is now pay to play.
wateralien··on Rewrite Bun in Rust has been merged
Deno's approach from the beginning seems to have proven out.
wateralien··on Warp is now open-source
100,000% I loved it when it was JUST good at terminal rendering. Ghostty alternative. Not a crazy bloatware AI play.

wateralien··on Anduril, Palantir and SpaceX are changing how America wages war
Are they also changing the way America puts a new (wholly-owned) president in the white house in 2028 in order to approve these contracts?
wateralien··on Ask HN: Who is using OpenClaw?
I tried twice and couldn’t extract value. Loaded it with ability. Still couldn’t.
wateralien··on A New Way to Spray Paint Color
Wow. I was pondering this exact thing when I was thinking about the scourge of ugly graffiti tagging where I live. Sample the wall color and cover it instantly.
