How do you all deal with this?
We need to keep using open protocols such as WebDAV instead of depending on proprietary APIs like the S3 API.
Their transaction fee is quite cheap, so small businesses earn more money and reinvest their revenue, rather than having it taken by Visa or Mastercards.
I am a big fan of Yanis’ book: "Technofeudalism: what killed capitalism", which lacks quantitative evidence to support his theory. I would like to see this kind of research or empirical studies.
I don't believe that privacy and advertising can coexist. I use Firefox specifically because I don't want to see ads, yet Mozilla is trying to push ads, which is a glaring contradiction. I'm worried that this could lead to their eventual disappearance in the future.
Another concern is the potential disappearance of entry-level positions for junior developers due to AI-driven automation. As AI systems become more sophisticated and capable of performing tasks once reserved for human programmers, the job market may undergo a significant shift. This could make it increasingly difficult for newcomers to the field to gain a foothold and establish their careers.
On the positive side, I also attended a presentation by Mathworks, which I found quite informative and easy to digest.
However, I have to take him out for walk more than an hour EverySingleDay. So, I have to spend more than 400 hours a year, i.e. 4000 hours for ten years. To be honest, spending 4000 hours is enough for making you a semi-professional in any fields. So, I don't recommend having a dog, unless you are literally CRAZY about dogs.
I support Firefox because competition makes market healthier. Current status of Manifest v.3 is a shining example.
Contributing to world class projects such as Postgres sounds cool, but doesn't it take years of experience?
Of course there are other benefit of learning C as you noted.
But at the same time, I don't want to invest so much time into learning a language which I probably am not going to use.
I am probably being disrespectful. I understand a lot of people use C, including Linux kernel devs, but I cannot imagine developing new apps with an old language such as C.
Great work as usual.
Unfortunately I'm from DataScience field, so I cannot see much motivation to learn Rust, but I am considering learning it, because language itself seems exciting!
Is there anyone on HN who is from DataScience field like me and has learned Rust? It would be much appreciated if you could share the experience.
